What vintage car is this? Version 317

Ann idea what it is? ![]()

I’m far from an expert on that era’s vehicles. The curved support for the headlights seems unusual. I’m guessing early to mid 20s, but I’m still looking at pics to try to narrow it down. I’m sure someone will see this thread and know right away, but I love these threads and trying to solve the mystry with google images.

Looks like a 29-31 something or other. By 32 designs had changed and cars weren't so boxy, So my guess 29 dodge, or maybe '30 DeSoto

I've looked at late '20's, early 30's Maxwells, Oaklands, Studebakers, DeSoto's Hudsons, Buicks, Olds.
I cannot find that grille shape anywhere. Maybe something like an Essex, or a Terraplane... I don't know. Google-fu is weak. The hubcaps remind me of Dodge Bros, and that little emblem in the middle of the headlight bar sparks a "Plymouth" reaction somewhere in my brain. I don't think it's a Chevy either The lack of fancy bits suggests a working man's car, but the size of it says Look At Me!! Maybe it's a hotrod!

That looks to be correct!
One of the things I like about the bird site. Lots of knowledge here.

Now, if only we can figure out what kind of airplane that is in the background behind the front fender?
(My two cents, - it's got pontoons instead of wheels)

I’m pretty sure the photo was taken at Gull Lake in Alberta.
I will ask a pilot buddy of mine if he knows anything about aviation history in that area.
