First deer of the season 2018
Well finally got on the board this morning with this 9 pt. buck. I have not seen anything good all season. I have seen just about every small buck close up in the area! This one showed up right after a small 6 pt. walked within 5' of the tree I was in. He want about 60 yds. after the shot and I saw him drop!

Had a buck & doe in the back yard this morning. I haven't hunted them for decades & don't even know when the season begins or ends in this area.

Nice, well done.
Lot's of deer here, too many frankly - we have expanded the number of folks we will let hunt the farm. All I ask is 2lbs of venison/sausage per deer. Works like a charm.

I wish I lived near you Paul. I am not sure we will even hunt this year now that dad's sister has closed off that farm to us now. (Her grand kids are old enough to hunt and it is a small farm)

I'm envious. I'll have to finish out this hunting season vicariously through you guys (se my "Injured Reserve" thread).
Nice buck. Of course on this coast we would call that a "4x5".  I wonder where the dividing line for that is - crest of the Rockies, or somewhere around there?
