Herb Garden?

Has anyone bought an Amazon indoor herb garden?

I want a self-watering, maybe with an LED light, not sure if I get enough sunlight this far north.

Ideally idiot proof.

Suggestions?

Thanks...being in the same zone as you, I have tried the same with my pond plants for the winter season. Using grow lights, they don't seem to grow much at all..they just maintain their condition.

The strength/angle of sunlight in MI is too weak to promote growing indoors in wintertime
Good luck

I use the Aerogrow, it works great and nice to have the light in the winter.

I live about 100 miles south of you and tried the indoor herb garden thing (I assume we are talking about aromatics for cooking ). It was an ok exercise, but not worth the effort for us. Being patient, growing lots in the garden, and freezing or drying them works better for us.

Herb Garden?

I finally went on one of those fancy garden walks in the old town neighborhood. So we’re standing there looking at a patch of weeds and I says, ‘Who was Herb Garden and when did he die?’

I swear half the the old ladies lost their dentures laughing so hard.

These “herbs” are growing in a AeroGarden. Unfortunately, grew too tall and are supplemented with another LED grow light. If you are looking to grow the other herbs, it’s a good little unit.

I live in a town-home and I grow herbs in pots and planter boxes. I try to bring in my home as many pots as I can. My home faces north/south and I get allot of sun. My oregano, thyme and rosemary plants do ok. I tried basil indoors but it doesn't grown as well - mostly maintains.

Parsley etc. The real crop grows outdoor (legally) in the summer.

Thanks for the replies.

To clarify, my little experiment is using the AwroGarden Bounty. It’s actually my moms. She had just harvested the last of some lettuce she had been growing and I joked about growing some pot. She’s grown parsley, thyme, dill, basil, lettuce, cherry tomatoes. Probably a few others as well. The basil did really well.

As of today recreational pot is legal in Michigan. You can legally possess 2.5 oz on your person and cultivate up to 12 plants at home but cannot be publicly visible. You can give it away but not sell it. Nor can you consume it in public. Any amount over 2.5oz has to be under lock and key, even at home.

Federal pot laws still apply though, and the details are being worked out as far as the commercial sale. Communities at all levels can ban commercial retail establishments and many already have.

They are also figuring out state-wide if certain prior pot convictions should be expunged.

Never thought I'd see the day.
