Wait a minute....... I thought if you sell the Porsche you have to buy a Mustang? This isn't a rule? Have I been misled all these years? :)

Don't blame me..it's not my fault that I'm a trend setter.

Here is a nice used two door car with a back seat that isn’t flashy that most car people don’t have a clue what it is. Too flashy? Find one in black, if you can find one at all. And I did have personal experience with its big brother for four years. Power and grip, not a bad combo.

Not sure a UrQuattro checks the boxes for a reliable and easy daily driver in traffic, but it sure would be fun! I love those cars.

Thanks for all the ideas guys... He ended up buying something I did not expect but respect a lot. A later model E92 M3 (the V8 one) with the typical engine issue (conrod bearings if I recall) recently taken care of pre-emptively... Sounds glorious, it is more discrete than the 991 though not by a mile - color helps blend in... I think the one flaw is the auto tranny is not as smooth as PDK but it is a nice car.

If you want to keep it discrete, just don't wash it.

Did you pay dealer markup ? Where I am at those are $15 to 20k over msrp!

Palum6o 01-20-2019 08:57 PM

I actually paid MSRP. No way I was going to pay $25k over list as what BMW SF wanted. I actually didn’t buy it in California, in September 2018, I was still seeing $5k markups on 2018 models. There are dealers out there willing to sell at list. When I found this one, it was actually cheaper than the 2018s. The deal I got included shipping and I also got a rebate through BMWCCA for $500.

Best to go with a ‘volume dealer’, I believe the 2019’s May have all sold and any new allocations now would be for 2020, but I’m not really sure. I would think by now the hype on these should have cooled off a bit. So far I’m really enjoying every drive with it, great daily.
