Is this a well setup 944?

The current and previous owners have spent over $200K on it.

I don't see 200k.

He was taken for a nice ride.

I'm glad he is happy with the car.

well, I don't "see" $250K early 911 S prices either, nor pretty much any $150K+ resto...

And yet that is the price of top notch work these days... I'm sure the money is there...
I fear it hurts the hobby more than it helps though... I'm already on my way out, I guess my salary has not escalated like those prices have ;-(

I know a guy who has a $150K+ Falcon. Apparently if you can't/don't DIY anything it's not all that hard to do. To each their own.

Seems like a nice car...but half the $200K was the amount invested in the car over the lifetime before he bought it. It appears he paid $15K for it and it was practically a basket case...then dumped another $95K into it.

I like the car and would probably pay close to 20K for it, but, would not pay the $95K for it that he put into if it were a brand new 951 (with zero miles). If he had said $45K...I might have tough he was eccentric, but understand how much it costs to do things right.

Heck, I think the $20-25K that I have into each my 911s is crazy...

Bingo...not the way I'd spend $200K, but it wasn't my money. To each his own.

There was (operative word was) a guy on the Bullitt Mustang board who did the same..bought a new 2008 Bullitt, and promply made a shop happy by blowing at least another $1ooK. All sorts of folks in the gearhead world.
