GE Medical Systems does too. When I get a dispatch and call in, the phone rings in India.

Every day my customers complain to me about the language barrier.

At least they can't install parts and calibrate from there.

Yep. My dept is no longer permitted to hire US citizens. We can only hire from our India site (Bangalore? Can't remember). Trouble is, communiciation difficulties and time differences means two of them are less than one of us.

Fortunately I seem to have built some job security into the products I support (i.e., horrible documentation and extremely complicated to use).

Wonder when the US companies laying off US workers will realize they can't sell their ultra-expensive products anymore, because the deficit-spending American public no longer has the credit to afford toys? It's not like HP is going to sell $3000 computers in India, when they're paying their Indian employees $200 a week.

And it's not about 'being competitive' - the cost savings go straight to the top in the form of bonuses and golden parachutes.

The middle class is headed for implosion. We're going to have an uber-wealthy upper class, and then everyone else clawing all over each other to mow their lawns, serve their coffee, clean their houses, etc.

Within our lifetimes we'll see the self-destruction of capitalism just like we saw the self-destruction of communism.

The ideology of the left eg the Democratic party is that the collective is better and the government knows the best way to spend your money.

The implosion of the middle class has been going on since the 1980's...it now takes 2 to work, burgeoning credit card debt etc etc....I've heard that same old story for years...he!! I even used to sell it like the holy gospel.....

End of Capitalism hardly.just more multinational's and globalization of economies thats all....it's more like the decline of the Nation State.....everybodies partial to their own neighborhood and sometimes they have squables though????????

A friend of mine went for a month, and I was in a few weeks of going myself, before I landed a better job.

India is still a hellhole; all of the jobs are going to sanitized (for your profit) tech-meccas like Bangalore, while the rest of the country continues to live in corrupt squalor.

Last time I checked, the current administration has created the largest, most expensive government in the history of this country. That means higher government payrolls and more employees. Yep, the left is spending all our hard earned tax dollars.

As for the anti-India statements - if you have object to companies moving operations overseas, put your money where your mouth is and pay more for American made goods or companies with American only support offices.

I work for a software company and we employ quite a few Indian programers. I can honestly say, they are among the hardest workers we employ. Not only very capable, but a great work ethic and attitude.

Yes, we should keep a lot of jobs here. Unfortunatley, the President is sinking the economy for his own egotistical goals.

Keep your eyes on this case, folks, it may (though probably not) change our "globalizing" employers' tunes:
