spoke with my insurance agent about switching over to hagerty since she had suggested them and quoted me close to 800 a yr and mentioned that grundy's cost was less than half. when i sent her the two policies, both with a stated valve of 30k which i am thinking may be abit low, this is what she said about the grundy insurance policy.
As for the Grundy quote the first thing I see is that it is for a Combined Single limit of $100,000. The Hagerty quotes are $100,000/300,000/100,000, the Hagerty quotes have better limits for liability. Under the Grundy policy the max they would pay out is $100,000 whether there is 1 person or 10, this also includes any property damage. If there was an accident that had 3 people in the car with injury and vehicle was totaled the max amount Grundy would pay is $100,000 total. The same situation with Hagerty would pay out $300,000 max for injury and up to another $100,000 for the damaged vehicle. the only other thing i saw was hagerty charges for their magazines and roadside assistance, not sure if you can delete that if you already have coverage and currently have all the magazines you can handle.

American Collectors Ins. Agreed value $26,500, Mileage tier 5,000, towing (100 miles), no deductible, $500 spare parts coverage, $264.20/yr. No claims so I don't know how they'll respond. If anyone has any experience with them, good or bad, please let me know, my policy is up for renewal in mid March. I had Hagerty for years prior and had 1 small claim, $1400 which they paid fast and without any hassle. I don't remember exactly what my annual premium was, but I remember it was quite a bit more.

I put my Porsche and Charger on Hagerty last year, I pay about 1/3 of what I was giving Nationwide for coverage.

So after reading all of these posts, I thought maybe I should get a quote from Hagerty on my 997S. At $50k declared value the rate was $868.
I just checked and I pay a little over $700 on my regular safeco policy and the minimums are $500k with a $1m umbrella. Car has gotten only 3,000 miles per year since new and I have 5 vehicles for 2 drivers. I'm going to guess that Hagerty doesn't want "newer" cars, although my car is not even close to being new. I'm wondering if I should get some type of language added specifying that the car is a factory aerokit car which makes it not super easy to replace... Based on what I read here, I really expected hagerty to come in at like $500-$600 bucks. DL |

Just got a renewal notice from Hagerty.
Premium has risen from $670 to $755. That's a huge jump. I've never made a claim. I am getting tired of Hagerty and their fluff. They are squeezing their customers and getting greedy. I don't want a lifestyle company, I want a no-frills insurance company. I might shop around, but am wary of shady coverage that does not pay on claims. American Collectors just gave me a soft online quote of $302. Very tempted. Has anyone ever made a claim under American Collectors?
