As Paul mentioned above the Trilogy. The early years of Churchill are well described. He was an amazing man starting with his interest in history and the theater. This brings me to another book "The literary Churchill" by Jonathan Rose which covers all his life and how he made himself famous.

Lord Moran was Churchill’s personal physician from May 24, 1940 until his death. The diary ends March 28, 1960 five years prior. By that time his old age, and by his own words had become-a feeble substitute for life.
I haven’t read it.

Some great book suggestions but if you feel like watching a movie this is worth considering.
(Not entirely accurate to history but a decent effort overall)
