Since there's not much reality in the plot there is no reason the method of intake can't be anything you want it to be.

Reminds me of one of my most talented guys. These conversations actually took place.

"Dude, I need a creature / monster. Needs to have 5 eyes, 8 arms, covered in fur but is reptilian."

Sure, no problem.

"Oh and pose it this way"

I can't do that.

??? "Why not"

It would never be able to move that way. The mechanics are not possible.

??? "it's a fur covered reptile with 5 eyes and 8 arms, we can make it do whatever the hell we want"

But it won't look natural.

???? "Are you ****ing with me?"

No. Can't be done.

"Get out of my office!!"

The auto injector and the sublingual made the cut. It will probably just be used in a "vignette" showing how he deals with the demise. It's a pretty heavy, sort of spiritual film. Thanks for all the suggestions!

As far as I know opioids are injected (IV or IM) or taken orally (swallow or sublingual) and some are transdermal (i.e. Fentanyl patch). These are the common opioids: Morphine, Heroin, Oxycontin, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Fentanyl, etc...

The sublingual doesn't seem like it would be very dramatic.
