As others have stated, keep the parts with the car.

I've had a thread going in the Marketplace for a few years.....'88 CE valuation"....you can see a glimpse of the car I molested....she's just dusty now...and movin' on as is, with all her original parts, etc. I'm even gonna toss in an Island911 valve adjustment tool....cha-ching ;) |

I'm proud of my work too....once ;)....long ago. You rock.... |
If I were in the market for another G50, I wouldn’t be interested in any of the parts you mentioned, except maybe the steering wheel...but even my own stock steering wheel is just sitting on a shelf.

Everything goes.... BTW Shaun.....only my 930 rotors are yellow zinc...they would not fit in the tumbler. All my shiny pieces were replated like original....gold cadmium...Rednecks R' Us :) |

I tumble 915 cases all the time so anything fits. I don't think your rotors are actually plated, if you drive the car that is. I did a set in black zinc chromate for a show car, pad surfaces were covered in felt. Original is yellow zinc, only a few pieces were done with cadmium in the 60s. Germany outlawed cadmium in the 60s. Later outlawed here too except for platers that were grandfathered in and those doing military and NASA work. My plater does a lot of work for Lockheed Martin so I do a fair amount of cadmium with them, helpful for my vintage Ferrari customers though I a lot of Porsche folks like it too. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1550145540.JPG Magnesium tumbles beautifully. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1550145540.JPG http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1550145540.JPG |
I know all bits are gold cadmium, and my rotors are yellow zinc....because they would not fit in the local professional plater's "tumbler" for the cadmium. The pics you might see elsewhere were taken as I installed them....
15 years ago I thought the parts were OE cadmium....from the tech section....I am sure. 'Tis what it is :) |
