Good find. Found the same on Toyota,Dodge,Chevy, Nissan, AMC, Fraud, Merc, Porsche, BMW. Not uncommon.
Who made the part?

it was some kind of super high flow blah blah blah, whatever.
So I replaced it with a real part from NAPA this time.

Get off my lawn!

The thermostat on my Elky is about as common and easy to replace as any. I have always tried to get a higher quality one. The last one worked fine for a summer, but in winter just decided to stay mostly open, so I had pitifully bad heat. So drain down the radiator a bit and put in a new 7!dollar thermostat. Now I have great heat again.
