Q for PPOT chefs, food vacuum sealers?
We are on our second food vacuum bag sealer.
They only seem to last a year, I took the one we have apart (with the aid of some YouTube videos but this one is not 'user serviceable'). Anyone able to recommend a vacuum sealer that will last more than a year? Thanks in advance.

I'm no vacuum bag sealer expert, but our Costco one has lasted for 5+ years. My wife is the main operator. We only use it periodically though since there are only two of us.

I have one of the old white plastic food saver brand and it's still going fine.
I fight fluids migrating and messing up the seal. To that end I've lusted over the top load type that can seal a bag of soup if you want but just can't justify the cost. Found some pre made bags on amazon that simplified the process a bit vs the continuous roll. If I were to buy new I'd try hard to find a reputable brand that has a better way of coping with wet foods. Current method is to fold up paper towel and hit the 'seal now' button when it starts to soak up liquid.

Wet foods I will bag and freeze before sealing.
I have a pretty good quality food saver brand sealer and it has lasted me long time. I buy the bags and rolls from Costco when they are on sale.

We use ours all the time...really, all the time, so we spent some $$ for ours. Not sure how much you want to invest, but we went with the Vacmaster vp-215 (had some issues with the 210)
