New addition. Greyhound
After 2 years without a dog we adopted this guy.
He's a 2 year old greyhound named Axel. Kinda crazy since we finally have no kids at home and now have a 76 pound toddler http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1550608890.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1550608890.jpg |
Congrats, Scott!
Great looking pup and an awesome name for him! Thanks for giving him a forever home and feel free to drop by our Dog Thread periodically and post pics and/or updates! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-discussions/684337-dog-thread-235.html |

Congrats, very sweet dogs! |
Awesome.
I’m sure they told you, don’t let it off lead while outside. |
He's got a kindly face.
|
Looks like he's found a loving home!
I meet a couple of grey hounds when out walking my dog They're both lovely dogs and one of them chatters it's teeth when excited |
He and us have a lot to learn but everyday gets better.
He is so gentle but doesn't know his own size in In the house. . Loves to run in the snow |
Axel's a great looking dog.
I had a buddy that had a couple of chihuahuas and then they adopted a greyhound. The greyhound was awesome. They are interesting dogs. I've also seen Italian Greyhound Rescue folks on weekends outside of a local pet food store. They are also super cool, but much smaller. |
Well if you like them Florida now has a bumper crop.
Law of unintended consequences anyone... |
Handsome guy!
Love that first picture, he looks downright regal. And he seems to have his own PlayStation controller. |

Looks a bit sloooooow ;) |
I had no idea Greyhounds are that size. Wow.
Well done. |
Congrats, looks like a sweetheart!!
There is a rescue Greyhound in our neighborhood names Bella, she is the sweetest dog, gets all excited when our rescue mutt and her see each other. Great dogs, IIRC Beela had a very wide collar on, I asked about it, seems they are better for their necks, something to look into. Hers was over 2" wide, maybe more like 3" wide. We tried to adopt a second rescue last week the rescue group we were dealing with was flaky and never followed through, the dog we were looking to adopt was placed somewhere else while we were in the process of adopting it. We decided it was a sign to not bother for a while, we will revisit towards the end of the summer. We have a busy summer ahead. |
Awesome! Good job on the rescue. I've heard they make great companions. SmileWavy

Looks sweet. That's the high performance model, btw. :)

They liked to wander and were not really 'activated' by much of anything except an occasional random sprint without any external pack 'impetus'. Just go to 100% full speed randomly. Totally calm. Zero aggression towards humans and other dogs. They sleep 20 hours per day. Perfect. They seem to be an exceptional breed...but not long-lived and those few had some 'neurotic problems' which I'm not sure of. |
Finally got him to the dog park this week.
Other dogs more interested in him than he was To them. He was more interested in the people and hoping for head scratches. Was amazing to see him run. Big hundred yard circles. Then came home and went to sleep. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1554488861.jpg |
It's tiresome to watch 'em run :)

Oh and I turned back the other day and he jumped in the carhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1554489056.jpg

I loved my grey! Big black with white markings. Seriously HUGE grey, he weighted 96 pounds. Vet said Zorro was the biggest grey he had ever seen. Loved children. Every kid in the neighborhood was initially terrified of the giant black dog until they pet him. He would just lean in for a cuddle.
Zorro would play chase/catch in the backyard with a yellow shop rag. He would run full blast, throw it in the air, then double back and grab it on the run again. Couldn't believe how fast he could accelerate. Set of wheels! angela |
