San Diego.

Whoa. Nice place.

I’m here all week. Followed a bunch of ladies in to a restaurant and I’m gonna sample a plate of huevos rancheros to check then out. I’m not even hungry.

Any must sees?

Im meeting Pelican Jim tomorrow.

Last week I was freezing my ass off in Redding. I feel stupid packing a puffy vest here. I wish I could give my presentation in shorts.

You locals here live in a great place.

Wish I had some free time. Working two projects at once for the next couple of weeks. Enjoy your visit!

I'm in south OC. I lived in San Diego county years ago while sailing around for Uncle Sam. This whole area is a great place to live. Have fun while you're down here, Cliff!

I lived Coronado for 6 years in the 80's.

Nice is just the beginning.

Go see the Midway. It is a cool museum. It can suck up a lot of time and you will have no idea how time passed so fast.

Star of India, The Maritime Museum, Gas Lamp District, Old Town for dinner, Hotel Coronado, Sea Side Village......so many things....

Enjoy!

Too bad the season is over or you could catch a charger's game ;)

Serial, my favorite steak house:

Donovan's Steak & Chop House
570 K St, San Diego, CA 92101
(619) 237-9700

I heard they got a zoo down there too.

Pt Loma...Old or New Lighthouse.

If you want to hike a bit, no better place.

speeder 02-25-2019 11:24 AM

Definitely make it over to LaJolla and check out the beach and coves. It’s still a little chilly in SoCal but it’s gradually warming up this week.

Sandy Eggo, loved that place, has changed a lot in the last 50 odd years.

Funny (true) story:

I snuck into the room where our presentations are gonna happen. I hid in the back corner, put on my Bose headphones, and watched some downloaded shows. I like this to calm down before my presentation.

In comes the area supervisor. I tried to ignore her. NOPE! She taps me to help. I’m in slacks, dress shirt, and a friggen bow tie. Next thing I know, I’m climbing under her desk to pull out heavy, overloaded boxes.

Pfzzzt! My fat ass blows out the crotch of my pants. @#$&#$&$*&,,!!!!

I ask her, “ excuse me, where is the mall?” ( she actually said - maybe no one will notice)

I find the mall, and ask some cutie if she knew where BR is. “Oh yes!, you are shopping?” I explain my wardrobe malfunction; she stares uncomfortably at my crotch, grins and tells me, “ follow me”

She walked me to the store! I shake her hand, thank her and bought new pants. The salesman watches us and runs and gets me pants. People are NICE here.

Like there is a cheap place in San Diego anywhere in city limits or within a lot of miles.

sammyg2 02-25-2019 02:53 PM

it has a certain rustic charm about it .....

That's more money than I've ever made in my whole durn life.

BeyGon 02-25-2019 03:00 PM

If you are flying out there is a Vets art exhibit in the newer terminal, some bronze sculpture, the Marine Bronze is my face.

speeder 02-25-2019 03:26 PM

I spent a fair amount of my youth in LaJolla w my dad and siblings. It's definitely the high rent district compared to the rest of San Diego but at least you can see where the value is. Have breakfast outside at the Hotel LaValencia or walk down to the beach on Sea Lane and feel like a rich person for a day. :)
