Can't really blame that one on the car.

svandamme 03-04-2019 09:49 AM

It was trying to get to the crowd at the other end of the race track !!
All those people in the yellow areas dodged a big bullet
That number 15 deserves a medal !

Lol...

You've got to be careful with Mustangs. I can't tell you how many times I've been in a parking lot, just minding my own business, and my Mustang's throttle goes to the floor and it tries to steer into a crowd of innocent bystanders. My insurer only allows ten kills a year, and I'm already at my limit!

svandamme 03-04-2019 10:35 AM

Ford calls that feature AutoKillALot(®)

Only 7 for me so far...probably because I don't drive a lot these days.

0/5, no burnout.

Hilarious though.

Tervuren 03-04-2019 12:42 PM

Allright, so since we have a thread about.

In Spectator Drags at short tracks, Mustangs STINK.

Could be a 80's Mustang, 90's Mustang, 2000's Mustang, etc...

They post good 0-60MPH and good 1/4 Mile in magazines. They just can't seem to live up to it in the real world.

HardDrive 03-04-2019 06:42 PM

No body count? Not a proper Mustang video me thinks.

I enjoy my 2003 Mach 1. The engine is a lot of fun. 305hp, 320 torque, 5 speed.

But the suspension...yeah, it will keep you on your toes. Its frankly a bit scary.

The 2015+ cars with IRS are different animal entirely. And the modern GT350 is a track monster.

Tervuren 03-05-2019 01:04 AM

What seems to have happened is a car entering pit blocked the view of the second car.

It looked clear from that pit.

Stijn's secret desire..

Here's Randy Probst doing a hot lap around Laguna in a 2016 350GTR Mustang. Time 1:36.11

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9kPRxiOB48Y

And here in a 2017 Carrera S. Time 136.44

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AF9Uva-QaNs

Pretty close, I'd say..

sc_rufctr 03-05-2019 04:02 PM

lol... I was there :D

Paul a souped up Shelby 350GTR Mustang manages the same time a regular 911S?
wow

for the record
I don't care bout laptimes , especially not from souped up cars against regular versions...
in the end it's still a stang. If I was intersted in Stangs, i'de be on a Stang forum probably wearing some gold chain and a mullet. :D

chapo 03-05-2019 08:27 PM

The new Mustangs are amazing cars in his defense. And I believe a Mustang won the race shown. 911s are all about lap times, they were bred to race. I like Randy's videos, he adds interesting insite to how the cars handle. I guess if I was just driving a GT3 to cars and coffee for approval of my peers its not a big deal. All new cars, including the new Civic Type R are amazing. The new Civic will spank most Porsches up through the 90s. Time marches on.

svandamme 03-05-2019 08:30 PM

sure, but it takes Shelby to upgrade a Stang before it can be put in the same sentence as a regular production line Porsche ...
and still the thing will jink at pedestrians by the side of the road.

chapo 03-05-2019 08:32 PM

This brings up an interesting discussion actually. Porsche has always spoke of " improving the breed" through racing. They now sell more SUVs and models they do not race than they actually do race. Does racing matter anymore to Porsche? Each Rennsport I attend I can see bigger gap from the old to the new.

chapo 03-05-2019 08:42 PM

The 911S cost about 30k more than the GT350. different cars for different buyers. Doesn't matter, most won't see the track.

The 350GT Mustang and the GT350R Mustang are both strictly Ford products. Neither saw the inside of the Shelby American shop.
