It's a zenith ch801.... with a franklin o350. The airframe was designed around an o360 but they also had a firewall fwd option for the frank. It actually has less cubes and weight than the o360 but 220hp... Anyway it climbs over 1000 fpm at 40 mph, at our airport, 4200 asl. It's proven to be a potent combination. We're flying the test hours off now and will be installing a 2 blade carbon ground adjustable sensenich stol prop next week, so, more testing.

Secondly - I've never had any problems with insects but I have had an Anole find their way into a hose and then when the water comes on they are jammed into the orifices of my nozzle. I've since learned to run the water out of the hose end before attaching my nozzle....just in case. HTH!

A friend of mine has a 701 with a Rotax 912. But his strip might be 50asl. Most of his flying is below 2000. They aren't the prettiest airplane out there but they are just the ticket for sight seeing. Thanks Les

Changed out the headlight switch panel on the Silverado today. Ordered the part yesterday from Amazon, it came today, and was installed in 5 minutes. Now my instrument cluster lights are working again!
Thanks to You Tube and Amazon..... ![]()

I had my local Horologist out last week to fix my grandfather clock.
Works great now.

Unless it finds it's way to a museum where we can stare for hours and be astounded.

Took the 330 wheels to get new tires. Unfortunately they closed early today and I’ll have to pick them up Monday. Replaced a heater hose I nicked while doing some previous work and bled the cooling system. Installed the driver seat six point harness. Bled the brakes.
Going to the track next weekend, so trying to get everything done this weekend. |

fwiw all outdoor spigots need to have a back-flow preventer by code.
Never seen those before personally. Mine are all freeze-proof so the valve is inside the warm zone on an extension.

Installation of flap actuation hardware and bellcrank... experienced full metal tard today. As it turns out the shearweb mounted bellcrank bracket is an orientational part, if your not paying attention, or don't know it, the bellcrank ends up with the flap retract spring attach hardware sets proud of the rib tops... yup guilty, i ended up walking around like rain man mumbling and murmuring, pulled out the mic and had a... "I coulda had a v8" moment.... ridiculous.
Had the grandsons tearing the xr 80 down too. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Got the passenger side headlight all cleared up today. The van also had some surface rust on the roof so I tackled that today. I just wiped the roof down and sprayed with white primer and gloss white. I just used good ol rattle cans, it's not perfect but better than rust.
When all the pollen clears up, I would like to sand it all down and paint it correctly but it's good for now, I also cleaned up the interior a bit. This van is sort of an extra vehicle for us and I would like to keep it around a bit longer. The 2nd and 3rd row seats fold flat so you can really haul a lot of stuff in this thing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Love and hate mini vans... hard to beat the cost of load hauling when compared to a truck.

Its been a bit agonizing as I make this old rusty wagon roadworthy again, bought from an estate sale - 1988 Mazda 323 GTX 4WD Turbo.
Sometimes I have to ask is the "juice worth the squeeze!" Before and After:

Cheaper cost of entry for a used one cuz they ain't popular Not as likely to be stolen Insurance - schminsurance, amiright? Get the minimum. It's a minivan. Covert high speed travel Oodles of space for all your loading and unloading needs Spare mobile bedroom (or love nest, amiright?) I can't get myself to pull the trigger though. Maybe if I dressed better and was just cooler:

Haha, yeah we've had this minivan "Pearl" for many years. She is kind of an extra vehicle and doesnt get driven much, well, mainly because she smelled of burning oil from the oil leak she had, but I have fixed that issue.
I used the van today, basically went on a shake down cruise to Pull-a-Part in Montgomery, she did good. Cruising at 80 is very comfy, ran good, no oil leak, temp gauge stayed right in the middle. When I got home I could smell coolant so i opened the hood to find that the radiator was wet all across the top where the plastic cap meets the aluminum core, not only was it wet, fluid had been getting spritzed all over my clean engine. With the engine off, the fluid in the reservoir was okay but I could hear boiling coming from somewhere. This van has never had a cooling issue ever so I was very surprised, and a bit pissed off as I had done all the work lately taking care of the oil leak issues and sprucing her up and now this. So, off to the parts store for a radiator and a thermostat. The thermostat is weird, you don't just get a thermostat, oh no!!! For your 45 bucks you get a thermostat already installed into a housing with an inlet pipe and a gasket!!! Geez, when did thermostats get so dang complicated? At least with the RX350, you just replaced the thermostat, with the Nissan you have to get the whole kit, it's the only way it is sold. Anyway, I got the radiator installed, easy peasy, but the thermostat is being a real pain in the butt, ran out of daylight so I will continue in the morning before I go off to work!!! I thought I was finished working on this van but surprise, surprise, surprise!!! What next???? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Got the false spar on and attached today, it actually went on quite quickly. That's my buddy Doug. ![]() ![]()
