Autobiography on Motor Trend Channel

I recently discovered this new show on the former Velocity Channel. It's biographies about autos. Get it? They did a show on the buried Dino. Another on the Enzo that split in two on the PCH in Malibu. And then there's the one about the Bugatti Type 57G Tank.

I highly recommend it. Much more interesting than watching tattoo'd dudes pimping out 60's muscle cars.

I like Autobiography, I just wish they could edit them a little better, get rid of the commercial lead-ins left over from when it was a network show.

All in all, The Motor Trend Channel is well worth 25 bucks a year; plenty of content.

(And if you like those shows with all the tension and phony deadlines, (I don't) they have some of those too. )

I have seen the last 3 weeks. Not bad. I do think they may have a hard time finding good stories to tell. The Hitler car story had a lot of conjecture. Funny part is I saw that car or a similar one at a car show in Chicago in the 60s. Cant forget the big black car with Hitler story boards around it. I awas maybe 15 at the time.

Can't wait for one of the 8 or 10 touring Bonnie & Clyde car stories.

I hate those shows! "Lets take an activity that could be enjoyable and add time restrictions that personality conflicts and turn it into pure hell. That's a great idea!"
I especially hate the cooking wars.

I watched the episode with the buried Dino. I doubt I'll watch another. Not very interesting and they drag out 15 minutes worth of information into an hour of air time. Not to mention the majority of it is back and forth banter between two nerds that aren't really car guys. Add in the recreated video footage....

Blech.

Love it as for me, sometimes the story behind a particular car is better than the car itself..

Based on this thread I DVR'd a few shows - the Case of the Priceless Porsche was fun. I had no idea (I am sure all the cool kids here knew all about it) about the car or the prank.

I could not watch the show without fast forward, however, not a good sign.

The show does drag on. If it was a 30 minute show it would be better. The long banter get tiring.

I think I record most shows that I watch. Last nights show was not that good. It could have been good if it had solved the mystery.

I started the thread and like the show, but I totally agree.

I have watched 3 episodes and the jury is out. Record and FF is the only way to watch any of these shows unless you love commercials.
It is nice to have a somewhat informative show without the fake deadlines, tats and oversize ball caps as there are far too many of those.
