I keep watching this video, and rewatching it, and rewatching it.

At first I was somewhat iffy about the video and the song but the more I see it the more I like. I'm watching reviews of this video and I've missed some things that are right in the middle of the screen, like the U-boat at 1:09. I'm kinda "into" U-boats so how did I miss something like that? :confused:

A lot of Germans feel some shame over the war and it shows in this vid. The Japanese don't seem to have any hangups about their country's participation in WW2, but Japan is an island and Germany is borders on 9 other countries.

LOL...Rammstein....yea, I have a couple of theirs my sons left me.....even listen occasionally. Like this one because it's slow enough and simple enough I can understand the lyrics!

Ernest Rohm and about 100 other of the SA leadership were retired by Hitler in a deal with the Wehrmacht for their pledge of loyalty to him. Rohm wanted the SA to supercede the Wermacht as the armed force to defend Germany. Rohm and some of his friends were noted homosexuals.

Rohm's crime was being to big for his britches

Rammstein are Ossies so the DDR bits are part of their youth and relevant to them but probably lost on most people

dogs are all over the video, my favorite dog bits are the two wearing gas masks, Germans probably like dogs almost as much as Parisians

My mind has been officially blown. Binge watched five of them. Dark, brooding, industrial heavy rock at its finest. Thanks for turning me on to this super group which unfortunately doesn’t get air play here. What a shame.

Rohm always had an uneasy relationship with Hitler. Hitler formed the SS as his bodyguard as a counter balance to the SA.

Finally Germany wasn't big enough for the two of them. When Hitler became Chancellor and Hindenburg died Hitler saw his chance and eliminated a rival.

The SS arrested Rohm put him in a cell and gave him a pistol to do the right thing. Which he refused to do. Then somebody had to do the right thing for him.

Can you imagine these guys playing the Superbowl? I can't after all the dreck that's been playing the half time show.

We have different taste on this side of the pond. Things are different over there; some good, some bad. I still remember the smell of bread baking coming thru the open window 2:00 in the morning from the bakery a stone throw down the street.

Now that is a Super Bowl I would actually go to. I would love to see the people grabbing their kids in horror and running from the stadium. Rammstein would probably would have torn the heads off of Cold Play and eaten them. Now that would be money well spent. (Since I am 75% German (Solingener) and 25% Swiss, [US born] I am not surprised I dig them). Super!
