Aftermarket copy sport seats 74-84

These are kind of cool.. Yes they are copy’s. Honestly I’d consider them and take my real sport seats and store them away.

I honestly don’t think they look that bad.. I do think it’s cool that now they make reproduction early porsche sport seats.

These were probably the coolest and finest seats ever installed by any manufacturer. I’m talking even up to today.

I have serval advertisements from christophorus back in the 70s showing these seats installed in RSRs RSs 930s.. These are just cool.

Early Recaro sport seats are cool as a car seat can get. So cool that they are now being copied!

No head support though. The one thing I dislike about the seats in my 76 930 is that I can’t put my head back against the head rest.

The ones you posted look different somehow.

Aftermarket copy sport seats 74-84

As someone who has spent $1000s and 1000s ect on pelican parts. I can say that the sierra madre reproduction parts I have bought because of dreaded NLA have been very nice. I have been happy with sierra madre.

So how much are these copies?

The problem w any factory sport seats is that they weigh a ton. The easiest weight to lose in a 911 is to take the factory seats out, put them on the shelf and install some lightweight Recaro or Sparco seats. Instant 80 lb. loss in some cases and w no trade-offs in drivability or comfort, if you pick the right ones. I prefer Recaro Pole Positions, they are similar to factory GT3 seats but much cheaper.

Early factory sport seats are the worst offenders, ('73>), they must be made out of lead.

At 4K you have to wonder who wants them.

Pass.

I'll get mine recovered for a fraction of that.

2 is a fraction of 4, 1/2.

I’m telling you that’s on the low end.. really nice concours recovering is going to run more that twice that..

As for the seats I’m sure they are quite nice. I think price is reflective.

So you buy these for $4k and do what w your original seats, throw them in a dumpster? Or is this company nice enough to take them off my hands for free?

I'm sorry but unless your car has had the seats stolen out of it, this doesn't make a lot of sense at these prices.

I just looked, and their website said $4,995.
You'd think they could at least make the hinges look similar. GTS did pretty well with the hinges on their early sport seat repros.

First, Sierra Madre typically sells junk so there's that.

74-77 are the high dollar sport seat and these aren't a copy of them. These are 78+ which are less desirable.

74-77 sport seats are $4k per pair restored.

Why anyone would buy these is beyond me.

So are you suggesting that $5k is worth it for knock offs when I can get concourse level recovering of real Porsche seats for the same price?

Cause that’s what it sounds like you are saying.
