Who knows vintage Triumph motorcycles
I'm helping an older guy downsize and selling his 78 911SC (see marketplace discussion) and he is contemplating selling his vintage Triumph. It's a 500 cc model and hasn't run in years. But he put 50K miles on it back in the day.
Is there a market for recommissionable bikes like this? ![]()

Nice scooter:<) Yes, to your question and that is probably in the middle to tall 3K neighborhood judging from the condition.

That model, that year, with 50K on it will bring 4-5k running.
If it hasnt run in years, count on replacing the carb, fluids minimum. Value is about 3k, maybe 4

Very clean. That has to count for something. Hold out for a good price on that one. Maybe slap a carb kit in it. Gas tank probably needs to be rinsed out with some acid.

![]() I sold this 1978 750 Triumph 750 2 years ago for $2,700. Needed work on the brakes and carbs.......I think above estimates of $3-4K are spot on........A nice 750 brings $5K......'78 was kind of a cutoff for desirable vintage Trumpets. His is older than 1978 with the drum brakes. .......After 1978, the looks got ruined with big mufflers for noise/emission regulations.......

that's a 1966 t100c scrambler
Great bike! Not super fast, Only 1 carb = easy to play with. Great in-town goof off bike. <$3-5K is right in the zone as mentioned.

With as nice as that looks I'd venture to say you could do a lot better putting it on Bring a Trailer.
Just MHO of it.

Also, right hand shift makes it earlier than a '75 model. What's with the brick under the kickstand, that's all wrong?

My neighbor downsized about 5 years ago before moving to Florida. His was a 1972 Bonneville that he’d owned since new.
Sold in less than 12 hours to a collector here in NJ. His main reason for selling was that he was no longer strong enough to start it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
