If you have one hundred resumes for a job that all match the qualifications - you have to find a reason to reject ninety nine.

All good comments above.

• Name, address, contact info.
• Objective. Short sentence of what you want to do.
• Experience related to your objective with details. Don't leave date gaps. Even if unemployed. Just a short job description of those jobs not related to objective.
• Education:
• Tools: (MS Office, etc.)

Keep it all on one page in easily readable font.

Dude, what exactly is the problem, in the absence of jobs or in you? I ask you not to be offended because I just want to find out the truth. The fact is that I used to have a friend who could not find work. As a result, the problem turned out to be that he could not even write a resume and was very illiterate. I know it's an old thread, but figured I'd give an update. I've been working as a field engineer for almost 6 months now building an LNG plant in Louisiana. I could see myself staying with this company for a long time, so long as they continue to build plants. I started off with the millwright group assisting concrete with the embedded support structures, and will soon move into rotational equipment and possibly startup and commissioning. It's a lot of work and long hours, but I enjoy it and I'm doing exceptionally well here. Thanks for the encouragement to all who gave it.
