Happens sooner or later even to the best . Tore up the car pretty good but he's alright . Probably needs a new pair of underwear !

A lot of F1 driver won't do Indy as they think it's too dangerous
Bet Alonso's beach ball sized nads saved him from damaging himself

Glad he's okay. For the race itself? Don't bet against Penske.

A huge talent who goes right to the edge, and perhaps beyond a bit too often. To finish first, first you need to finish.

This is why I love Fernando. First, he admits he f'd up. Second, he's not whining about the risk or this and that. He's the last of the capital R Racers.

Alonso , Hinchcliffe and a few others failed to qualify in the top 30 yesterday . So there are three starting spots left and about 6 drivers trying to grab those last 3 spots . Today's weather in Indy is supposed to be overcast , will be interesting to see who gets the last 3 spots .

Folks on the ground are saying its wet and that bump day will be moved to tomorrow. No fast nine means Pigot gets pole.

Well that turns up the heat some
Pigot was getting it done he was a little over 230 mph that is cranking !! You gotta be right on the ragged edge at those speeds . I'm hoping for a good race with no injuries .

Alonso hit the wall alright. He's going home. Too bad but I wonder why he chose McLeran over last year's Andretti Motorsport.

Conflict with Honda engines that Andretti uses. It was a pretty half-assed effort McLaren made at Indy this year, IMO.

Will Zak Brown try to buy Fernando a ride for next weekend?

Wonder who will let him buy a seat? Or if he’ll try? McLaren used Andretti’s shock settings for today’s attempt, so they are still talking. Maybe one of the Chevy one-car teams? Or an ECR car?

Usually these types of transactions happen between a lesser-financed team, no? A small team where making the show is important, but keeping the doors open is even more so.

I guess McLaren got (bought) dampers from Andretti and data from Penske.
I feel like IndyCar bent over backwards to get Alonso into the show, but at the same time refused to bend any rules to make it happen. I respect that.
