At my first job the fridge there was a Frigidaire from 1940 or so. They had a contest to find the oldest running one and it was the winner for the southern region. They wanted to swap it with a new unit, but the owner refused. It worked great, and fit the space there fine. A new unit was a ton bigger.

A few years ago I went to Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale... there were tons of vendors selling cool stuff and one of the coolest things there were the guys selling restored old refrigerators and soda machines. Really cool stuff, custom paint jobs on them and modern internal mechanicals installed. They were fetching quite a bit of money for them.
