Saw him set fastest lap at the one and only Dallas GP. Finished 5th in over 100F degree heat.

His comeback from the '76 crash and living with those injuries is indeed the stuff of greatness. RIP Niki.

It was also cool that he was part of the movie about his life and was able to help keep it accurate, and see it on the big screen.

Sad to loose one of the greats.
I also saw him in Dallas in 1984 when I was at the ripe old age of 16!

Surprised to see that he had died but knew that he had complications from the lung transplant. I just expected to see him pop up in the garage at an F1 race, looking like Lauda.
Truly a great competitor and a legend. RIP

My dad suffered burns to his face and arms so I'm familiar with what Lauda suffered from. He truly was inspirational in that aspect. Loved rooting for Ferrari when he was driving for them.
RIP sir, we all can learn from the example you set.

"Niki Lauda" I think that's German for "one tough customer".
Will forever be considered one of the very best in F1 IMO |

A great champion, raced despite his family's disapproval, because that was what he loved.

Great video, opposite lock, glorious noise, actual shifting, could watch it all day. Everything F1 is not anymore. RIP Niki

What a life he had. With 2 kidney transplants and a lung transplant (not to mention the infamous burn injury) I'd say making it to 70 was a good run. So cool he stuck around motorsports until the end.
