Get a Miata instead it is the modern version of Triumph/MGB . Drop dead reliable with good performance and great handling . Plus real world AC and a plethora of aftermarket parts available . And no need to carry a recharge of Lucas smoke with you

pretty much, I think this is a wiring diagram for your MG, it looks very pretty in red and chrome

Good looking car, and a steal at $500.
I'll be renovating a good friend's '74 MGB in the fall. One owner, low mile car that's been sitting for 12 years. I'm trying to get her to part with the big bumper blocks, but so far, they are staying :(
I'm about 45 minutes west of you...good luck with the project.

Where is the smart phone jack so you can call the tow truck to haul it away?

The story is that the car was restored in 1996 for a raffle at a social function that the owner was at. He bought fifty dollars worth of tickets and won the car. Drove it for about six years and parked it in the garage. It never moved after that. Job and life took over and now has no interest in the car. Now drives a Tesla! I did work at there house ten years ago and asked him if he ever thought of moving it on please call. The call came and I went and looked at the car. As we took the tarp off I thought the car was in great shape. Asked him what he wanted for the car , he said five hundred if I moved it this week. I just shook his hand. The car is mine. 😊

Nice score. That is a gift price.

Looks like I will most likely move my 84 project targa to a new home to make room for the MGB !

I had a red ‘74 just like that and a dark blue ‘72 after that. Both were fun to drive and easy to work on. Both my kids learned to drive on them. Moss Motors is your friend. Wires don’t usually fail but connections do - and they seem to have a lot of bullet connectors than easily get loose. Enjoy it. Great find!!

everybody is saying Moss motors is good.....they are, but look at Jeff Zorn, Little British Car Co in Michigan. They use Moss Part numbers (and their catalog) but at a cheaper price. PLUS..when you order, he puts a complimentary package of Walker's Short Bread cookies in the box. His yelp reviews are bogus...I've ordered probably ten times from there...never a hiccup.

Maybe lose the bolt-on bumper boobs?

Tobra 07-09-2019 05:08 PM

yes, and polish up some carriage bolts to hide the holes
