Anyone here own a Hummer/Humvee? Info...
Anyone here own a Hummer or Humvee to go along with their 911...I've been real interested in these vehicles lately. What kind of gas mileage do they get? They just look very exotic
thanks.. ![]()

My accountant says I should buy a $50K H2 to take advantage of the accelerated depreciation schedule (up to $25K per year!) available for vehicles over 6000 lbs (isn't our tax code a beautiful thing?). It would wind up costing less than my $35k truck does now!! OK, it's the yuppie vehicle of choice right now, but they are pretty cool looking ..... -- Curt

From what I understand, you'll get 8 mpg...doesn't matter if you're pulling a boat uphill, or going downhill with the wind....8 mpg.

I checked the classifieds here (Oregon) today, thinking poor mileage SUV's would become cheaper than cars, considering today's gas prices, thinking that since I don't drive that many miles per year, an SUV could become a bargain daily driver...so far, it isn't happening. Luxury "lincoln" category for example...the SUV "navigator" still seems to sell $K for more than the luxury "town car"...given year of the model and mileage. Don't ask me why..I'm only reading the classifieds.
