				Revelation setting the alarm clock!

Have to be at the RV dealer at 8:00 AM tomorrow, so I set my dual alarm clock just now. The last two settings were 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM from about 16 -18 months ago, to get to LAX for some flights. Gawd, I'm glad I was able to retire and not die at my desk, or on an airplane.

I think I travelled about a million miles in the last 15 years, My wife doesn't seem to understand why I don't want to get on planes anymore.

I retired about 7 years ago at 65. It was a little daunting knowing I wasn't getting a paycheck anymore! I remember shortly after retiring, driving up to Home Depot or somewhere on a weekday morning thinking, "I don't have to be anywhere or report to anyone." Weird but good feeling!

I just looked at the alarm clock app on my phone. One 7:00 AM, a 2:00 PM and 8:15 PM alarm in memory.

I have done the get up at 3:30 AM, get to the airport at 5:30 and wait routine a few times. I don't wanna do it again unless it is going somewhere really fun.

I was retired due to health at 62 and being able to wake up whenever my body says so is exquisite!

If it were my 15 y/o I would say that would be around 10-11 am. I go to bed every night between 10-11 pm, and wake every morning before 6 am. My alarm goes off at 5:50 it is a rare day when I am not awake laying there thinking and waiting for it to go off. Sometimes if I know I have a busy day I just get up before it. We were just on a long weekend / short vacation up in the smokey mountains, by 8 a.m. my wife and I had already walked 2-3 miles all 3 days we were there and back at the house getting ready for the day and making breakfast. As time passes does the "natural" wake up time get later? I would feel cheated if I woke up after 8 am, like I just wasted the day, especially in the winter time.

I've been retired for fifteen years now. I sleep about five to six hours a night - go to bed between ten & eleven & wake up from four to five. Even if I go to bed later, I still wake up at the same time. I'd like to sleep more but it's not in the cards. I do take a rest for half an hour to forty five minutes each afternoon in my hammock though. I like seeing the mornings progress outside as the morning light begins to illuminate the world.

Yes. I get up Mon-Fri between 5:15 and 6am (whether I work from home or go into the office). If it weren't for the dogs, I think it would take me 2-4 weeks before I was staying up well past midnight and waking up at the same time as your 15 yo. I've always been like that.

I can get used to getting up early, and I like being up early and getting things done early. My wife does too, but we could/would both shift to a night owl schedule in no time flat if we didn't have any reason not to.

I wake up when the sun peaking around the curtains gets bright enough, or when my dog gets restless.
