Piiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnng. The most elusive auto part ever invented . I launched that sucker somewhere into the stratosphere today .
Just about the time where I was ready to give up, and figure out where to source one , or how I was going to make a standard e clip work, I finally found it
I was putting seals in a Mercedes Differential a few years back and launched one, that took me a day and a half to find . It got stuck up in a ceiling rafter right above the work bench.
If you hear it hit something, you have a remote chance in hades of finding it. When there is silence, you are in trouble .
Have you ever noticed , that the standard sized , easily replaceable ones never launch?, only the ones that are made from unobtanium . They grow wings, and fly

Haha, I did one the other day. Luckily, luckily I say, I decided to wear safety glasses. It turned out there was a spring behind it too.

Hahaha! It’s not lost, it just jetted of on vacation, probably some place exotic. It’ll pop in/up in a few months to a year.

This. That's they way I was told also by an old timer. I had no idea what the actual name is to those clips until a few years ago. My workmen know exactly know what a Jesus Clips is.

On my old DB4 I dropped an acorn nut for one of the valve covers, never found a perfectly matching one, 18 years later when I pulled the engine I found it stuck on top of a brake line in the engine compartment.

BTDT. I’ve actually placed another one of the same on the ground to help see what I’m looking for. Also, place a light down low and eye to the ground to find it.

What’s funny, when sitting in the ground cross legged and not be able to find the part, socket, wrench, tool, etc. Finally have to get up and search for it. 😡

Be glad you have good hearing. I do not. I only hear on the left side. If its not there, it is lost.

Except when lost on a smooth concrete floor. Then they always align themselves perfectly in the path of creeper/dolly/stool/skateboard wheels.
