What did you drive in high school?

When dad was home, I drove this. Not a babe magnet but it would go anywhere with a ton of people and built in surfboard rack. 4-cylinder hemi, 4-on-the-tree.

When he was at sea for nine months, I stole his. Yup, I was a rotten kid and karma got me, all three kids wrecked my cars, totaled in two cases. The good side, not a scratch on anyone.

Cruising Sunset Strip in '64 was a trip in itself in this thing. It was definitely a babe magnet.

A blue 1967 Mustang coupe.

Auto, 289. No air. No power anything.

I installed a Learjet 8 track, headers, Cherry Bomb glass packs, Holly 600, Edlebrock., Cragars and Uniroyal Tiger Paws F70 14.

In high school I had a Honda 125, then a Triumph 650 - yes it did make a diffrence.

Or if she was in a good mood I got to borrow my mum's Holden EH which is a New Zealand Australia made GM sorta car.

1st car:

About the same condition as above(pic from the net) when I bought it. Paid $150, rust and dents on every panel.

Next car was a Fiat, 128-3p Had alot of fun with that car, kind of wish I kept it. Like this, but it was dark blue:

I started off with a barnfind 64 1/2 Mustang with a a260 V8. Pulled the motor and it was junk, sold it. Then bought a 63 Crew Cab for $275. Kept that and got into 240Zs. Good times.

the pic of the Z below is from a CL ad about 2 years ago and could have been my car from 35 years ago. Will never know, sold before I could see it.

'77 Datsun King Cab (like this one) but mine had oxidized orange paint. I added the white spoke wheels popular at the time and hand polished the paint back to a shine. Added a cassette stereo, pioneer door speakers, and sliding rear window. Loved it!

1974 VW Super Beetle.

Drove it into the ground and repaired it multiple times. It would go anywhere.

Not mine, but just like this one.

1975 Toyota Celica with after market pop-up sunroof and louvers on the rear window, orange peeled silver paint but reliable as all hell. Learned to wrench on it.

Went to a '77 Cutlass with t-tops after the Celica was totaled out. Not my car but nearly identical to this one. Also reliable as all hell and got me into (and out of) a lot of trouble.

First car was a 1971 Dodge Colt, 4 cyl, auto and slowwwwww... I blew up the engine spinning a connectiing rod bearing. I tore it down, rebuilt it and sold it to get my second car.

Second car I drove my junior and senior years was a 1967 Mustang that had a 1982 302 swapped in. 4 speed with a Hurst shifter, headers Thrush glass packs, and yellow traction bars. Crager SS Rims with 60 series tires all around.

The PO put a larger carb on it and a cam of some sort I cannot remember anymore.

I loved that car, during my senior year I was rear ended in a snow storm by a classmate on my way to school. Yes, we went to school in snow storms in the 80's.

I found a 1968 Mustang that had a great polished metal interior. I drove it for a couple of months until I graduated then swapped all the driveline from the 67 over along with the awesome exhaust and rims.

This is almost its clone

59' Austin Healey 100-6 two seater, which I still own, after 44 years! It was red when I was in high school. I was planning on restoring it again, but I think its time to let it go.:(
