Kids fighting, my friend maybe in a little trouble.

Met my friends over dinner with kids now the school year is over. His boy finished up his first year of middle school. He's a soft spoken, taller kid, about 5'10. I am told he's been picked on by a bunch of older kids through out the year. He normally just walk away or just takes it. Those punks ambushed mom's car with a couple eggs from what I am told but nothing was done due to lack of proof so they let it go. Its just eggs according to dad. Day before last day of school, kids with nothing to do because semester was over and were running free looking to get in trouble. One kid with a large group of course, decided to take in a mouth full of milk and spat at his head from behind. My friend's boy calmly turned around, and nail the punk kid in the nose. He was out for a good few seconds.

Parents are called and the other kid's nose is now broken bloody and all that good stuff. My friend now thinks or afraid they will press charges or may lawyer up. What do you think? All info is coming from dad and his kid. As he's telling the story, he's sobbing with both fear and anger. I felt really bad for him.

Can they do that with a kid fight?

Your friend's kid was provoked.

That will play heavily into the decision.

Also, it was only a bloody nose - could have been MUCH worse.

The parents of the bully should be held accountable - I know parents can only do so much to control their kids but sounds like this egg throwing - milk spitting kid just didn't understand good manners and respecting others.

I think the fear of defense lawyer's bill if it goes that far. Setting out of court is complete BS. He's jsut afraid there's going to money out of their pockets to the other party, maybe medical bills?

I would think systematic bullying is looked upon much much worse these days than a punch in the nose, especially if there is documentation of it ongoing.

Just from what was said over dinner, I don't think anything was documented with the school or anyone. Parents didn't know bullying was on going until the kids mention that he knew it was the punks that threw the eggs at the van because they were asking if he like washing off eggs from their car following day. I be the is more embarrassing about the bullying and want to keep it from his parents.

If this thing does get blown out of proportion, it looks bad on my friends kids because he did throw the first and the only punch and drew blood. What a way to finish the first year of Jr school?

Nothing criminal will happen. Civil, who knows. I suspect the self Defense card will come up and the broken nose kids lawyer will advise his client to back off.

You think? Lawyer may be after a sizeable sum of money when they finally get to split the pot? I don't know and that's why I am asking?

I will try to keep this short.
my neighbor called the cops and said my dog was outside barking ALL night long. this was the one time we could not get her back in until about 1am.
the cop shows up threatening me with citations and just a real A$$ towards me.
I told the cop yes my dog was out until 1AM but not ALL night ling and this was the first time. I also said the lady is lieing to YOU and using YOU to get me because we don't get along. he did not care. I concluded it was because SHE filed the charge so SHE must be telling the truth.
he later called me back and said he could not give me a ticket unless he heard the dog.
