I agree

Always in my fridge

cabmandone 06-19-2019 03:42 PM

That's only because I don't allow anyone but family and close friends to drink my Kolsch!

Chocaholic 06-19-2019 04:09 PM

Never heard of it....till now. Thanks.

vash 06-19-2019 04:54 PM

Awesome. My local joint still #2 !

Love to try yours one day.

astrochex 06-19-2019 05:12 PM

I see I can get Bell’s locally. I will look for it now. Thanks for the tip.

908/930 06-19-2019 05:16 PM

It is 7% alcohol, well that is a good start.

Shaun @ Tru6 06-19-2019 05:17 PM

Just went out and got a 6 pack. All I can say is how much are these guys paying Zymurgy magazine to rank Two Hearted #1. It's got to be 7 figures.

I don't think I've ever had such an uninspired, tasteless craft beer in my life. It has great color but that is it. Seriously, this is not even good beer let alone best in the country.

Adrian Thompson 06-19-2019 05:27 PM

It’s because it’s more of a traditional IPA rather than the awful race to cram more and more hops into something they falsely call an IPA.

Shaun @ Tru6 06-19-2019 05:29 PM

It should be called Millennial where everyone gets a ribbon for being average. It shines as an average beer. It has virtually no flavor. At all.

astrochex 06-19-2019 05:32 PM

Okay, it looks like I have more or less to look forward to.

Shaun @ Tru6 06-19-2019 05:36 PM

It's funny that God tried to save me from this insult to my taste buds. I pulled a 6 pack out of the case, took 5 steps and a bottle fell out of the bottom. Cardboard was torn away. Bottle hit the floor but didn't break. That was my cue to grab anything else. Instead I got the second 6 pack in the case, had one and now I have to figure out what do the other 5 bottles. I see a lot of bratwurst marinating over the next few months.

vash 06-19-2019 06:04 PM

.....and we can talk when it’s seven years in a row :)

I don’t understand that race. I agree the new beer seems to get more and more hops in beer. And I really don’t understand the IPA push. I will drink any beer before an IPA.

Slug bait. They love it.

Are you calling Millennials slugs? ;)

vash 06-20-2019 06:42 AM

beer is subjective. just like anything else. it's a short reach for me to realize we dont all love the same thing. life would be awful if we did. i'm satisfied with a "i dont like it". no need to find any colorful metaphors...like the ones i use for my description of BLUEMOON

i love a nice IPA. i don't necessarily agree with the race to the finish idea of stuffing even more bitter into a beer tho. i love a good balanced IPA. that play between sweet and bitter for me is the key. Pliny is Good. Blind Pig is better for me. i would love to taste the new KING one day. but its in MI.

I thought you "Mericans" only drank Bush? :D

Were they out of Apple-tinis? SmileWavy

Although labeled as an 'American IPA', it doesn't have the hoppiness of most IPA's.
The founder of the company named it after the Two Hearted River in the UP of Michigan.

For you guys looking for a good punch you in the face IPA, look for one of these if you can find them.

Sixpoint Resin IPA 9.5% and it tastes very smooth for the ABV being so high so tread carefully.

My current favorite, which I may break my no booze during the week rule and buy a 6er on my way home today.

Motorworks Pulp Friction, this one is a Grapefruit IPA. 6.5% on this one.

I like their brown ale, this stuff is average --AND in todays world of great beer - "best" is more or less meaningless --as its a matter of one's own taste. For me a bit more alcohol seems to finish the deal --hence .................................. BEST OFs make for good conversation --regardless --.

Shaun @ Tru6 06-20-2019 11:14 AM

This. This is beer.

New beer you've had

Yeah not a fan, though not a beer drinker either. Plenty of better choices made in the state, in my opinion.

onewhippedpuppy 06-20-2019 11:16 AM

It’s not my favorite but I like it. Bells makes some good beer. Also, awarding a “best beer” award is stupid because that’s a different beer for everyone.

This. My nephew just loves IPA and if IPAs were all destroyed by Big foot or Unicorns, I would not care at all.

My personal favorite is:

The best I ever hug a lip over! But that is just my opinion, I thought I was wrong once in the past, but I was wasn't. :p

Superman 06-20-2019 04:40 PM

There is no shortage of exceptional IPAs in the pacific northwest. Life is short. God bless the brew masters.

astrochex 06-20-2019 04:57 PM

Picked some up. I like it (7% ABV may have helped), it’s not as piney and dry as many IPAs, it is refreshing.

My favorites are German weisbiers.

HAHAHAHAAA!! You literally had me laughing out loud!

Don't be shy now...
C'mon, tell us how you REALLY feel about that beer. :p

(Thanks for the laugh, man :D )

Shaun @ Tru6 06-21-2019 10:44 AM

Man I'm glad someone gets my sense of humor! It's, ummm, an acquired taste. :D

Jims5543 06-21-2019 12:22 PM

I ended up picking up the Pulp Friction last night, my mouth is watering right now thinking about them sitting in the beer fridge at home.

I need to leave this office.....

Had this recently for the first time. New fan here.

gtc 06-23-2019 10:07 PM

We're on about the 5th wave of IPAs out here in the NW. I would consider Bell's Two Hearted a solid 2nd or possibly 3rd wave beer, though it's too malty for my taste.
