It blows my mind that the southern belles wore multiple layers of clothes and survived 135 heat index as just another day with no electricity at all, so not even a fan.

With no deodorant, no showers, and no TP! ewwww.

Correct - I work outdoors - in the heat. I wouldn't want to do what you do - that convection oven

So our humidity has been lower this week. Right now it's only 60% with temp at 80.

I know it won't last - but wow - so much nicer for working outside!

60% is crazy high, we have that today and I'm dying!
Luckily the temp isn't very high so I'll prolly survive.

First summer here I was digging in fence posts and hanging panels on them. And was melting in the process. I end d up getting so dehydrated that I couldn't recover even over night. My brother suggested Gator Aid, which replenished something that I had sweated out and helped me to get feeling better, and able to continue working.

Cheers Richard

I get the gator-aid in the US, but do they have Croc-aid in Australia?

flatbutt 06-16-2020 04:09 PM

Anchorage -25F back in the early 90's. Very dry. You could not really sense cold until your skin became numb.

Cleveland a couple years later, -15 with some humidity and you were shivering in seconds.

Not anymore.......first cold weather of the cool season last night.

Into the 40's!

Turned on the heat for the first time since last winter.

I love this time of the year! :D

We broke 50* today. Not sure if that's a record or not.
Snow showers for tonight and tomorrow.

At the beginning of summer a couple of years ago, the pastor at our church said, "this is the time of year when some folks start heading north for the summer. They call them 'snowbirds'...I call them cowards!"

Reminds me of the college football players using the term "opt out" right now.

They aren't "opting out".....they are just plain "quitting".

Apologies for the slight thread drift.....SmileWavy

11pm and still 80 degrees out!

Humidity at 82 freaking %!

We had a couple nice rain days last week, which really helped, but not much since.

C'mon rainy season!!!
