You may dislike our politics, high tax, crime, and all of the above. Its 79 today, clear and blue sky, slight breeze, no bugs, and I am going out for a 30 mile ride before I come home and slave away to cook dinner for those three people living in my house.

I used to have the Davis Vantage Pro 2 all wireless with the solar powered fan in the solar shield for the temp sensor. I wish I had kept it.

I think you do get use to the heat and humidity. Just look at those who live in the tropics. We were in Hong King in the dead middle of summer two year ago. My kids and me included were melting and did not want to move. It was freaking horrible. We were riding in this tram that's been around over 100 years built by the British. No AC, standing room and the seats are small, unlike our N American bus seats. I notice a woman with a full on office suit buttoned up to her chin in an over coat and a brief case standing in front of us fully composed and comfortable. My wife and I wanted to tear our skin off even though we had only shorts and tee shirt on. I told my wife that this woman has a full face of make up and she looked great. She had to feel the heat but I can only think that sheisn't too comfortable neither.

It reached 110.8 in my work area today - that is a temp that even when motionless, I am dumping so much sweat that it is as if someone is standing above me with a garden hose running on my head. Not exactly pleasant.

What gets me about this area is how it does not cool off at nights, for months on end. Last night is was 86 at about 12:30am and was still 83 at close to 3:00 am (with sickening humidity to go along with it) - ass suck conditions.

We had one of those roof destroying hail storms last week, I got spared this time and won't be getting my 4th roof in 16 years but the southern part of the community got absolutely pummeled.

I feel bad for the roofers who have to work in this.

Hoodies keep the sun off you. Roofers wear them here.

You do get used to humidity, definitely. Also, if you move from humid to dry, you tolerate heat very well

We had a hail storm last year.

Lot of replacements even though the only damage was dents.

My neighbor behind me had theirs replaced and said their homeowner's insurance required it to be done.

Just last week the house at the end of my side street right on the Intracoastal had hers done.

Like Tob said though - these roofers are used to working in the heat and humidity. Most of them in this area are Hispanics and their workmanship and work ethic are second to none!

My experience has been that the max dew point temp where I think it's "nice" outside is 68º but much better is 62º. Our dew point for the past week and the foreseeable future is 75-80º.

10 day forecast looks good for us. But mid July through early Oct will definitely heat up substantially. Escondido is ~ 10 miles inland so we see +15F or more compared to the coastal communities in Summer. Trade off for not having to deal with seasonal “June gloom” which actually lasts a couple months overcast closer to the coast.

Those are pretty great temps for being 10 miles inland! Then again, 10 miles isn’t very far. When you get 30-40 miles in, especially if in a valley, is when the temps go up in SoCal.
