They're all getting up there in yearz now....Bob, Keef, Gogar ;)....

Rock on....

Keith would be good to see in a small room where the spectacle of the show is not so important.. let em play outside of the box that they created that is called their show...

^^^ I tend to avoid larger venues....X-Pensive Winos would work for me ;).

ramonesfreak 07-09-2019 01:40 PM

No I don’t mistake anything. Ya yas is a good album which I listen to often. I certainly don’t think it captures their finest live work that’s for sure

Go back and read my original post which said please dont tell me how ___ year was the last good tour.

Thanks for copying and pasting the same anti modern stones rant you add to any thread that mentions them

All I wanted to know is how was the tour going this year

And DONT try to school me on what the good records are because I have them, all of them. My living room could be the best record store you ever walked in to

You mistake sound quality and corrography for the content taking you to the edge..the spectacle is the show and not the content which is being rehashed...again

When the Stones played Sympathy in 69 for the first time on tour as Jagger said, "The audience got weird"...it took them to the edge..the vibe it created moved them.. Today they cut 17 seconds because they are behind in the show..

Have a good time!

I saw them in Ames, IA back in college and it was fun.

Saw Bob last Friday in Boulder and thoroughly enjoyed myself even in the pouring rain and rain delay.

My buddy was at that. I watched most on YouTube. Pretty good set list

I was at Saratoga and it was fun. Hated the set list but still fun as always and will always go until it’s over

Ya know today is 24 years that the dead played their last show. I would do anything to be able to go back but it is what it is. I’m glad I went to the shows I went to. Even back in the 80s when I went to shows I knew (my opinion) that the dead’s best tour was 1972. Didn’t stop me from loving every minute of it and turns out that 89 and 90 and even 91 had great shows!

Someday the stones will be dead or dying and gone. That’s why I seize the opportunity any chance I can go see them now.

If they were some sad nostalgia act I would quit going but they are far from that. They are the real deal Still

I think some people are just afraid that they will be reminded that their own best (young) years are long behind them. I’m reminded everyday too but that shouldn’t mean you avoid what little there is left to enjoy still. TABS can go to his Miley Cyrus concerts and I’ll go see the stones

Well ide be up for that too. Keep dreaming

I absolutely hate stadiums or any hockey arena etc show but last I saw the stones at buffalo bills stadium I was amazed at the sound. The have that down. It was extremely clear and extremely loud and powerful as it should be. I was happily surprised by that and I hope they do the same at the jets stadium in a few weeks

I remember seeing the stones in 89 at that dreadful Syracuse carrier dome. The sound was horrid. Saw Clapton the same year. Awful. Paul McCartney there a year or so ago...sounded like garbage. What an awful place for a concert

If the sound is good, I’m happy :p

KFC911 07-09-2019 02:07 PM

I would love to go see the Stones with Mylie Cyrus...oh hell yeah! We'd have a freakin' blast....count on it :)

And those are only some of the best live RR albums ever....you forgot a few but that’s not what this was supposed to be about

ramonesfreak 07-09-2019 02:19 PM

And please tabs stop spreading this stupid rumor that they cut 17 seconds from the song

I thought for a moment that I read that somewhere credible like in an interview with Mick but no, I remember now that I read it in one of your rants here in the recent past

And 17 seconds, so what. I sure didn’t notice anything but balls out rock and roll

KFC911 07-09-2019 02:20 PM

I do very few stadium/arena shows...never have liked 'em much. Last saw 'em in Duke's small stadium around '06?....with my ex g/f (a bit older than I)....she had last seen them in Detroit '69 methinks....

We had a ball in the spectical of it all :)!

Best live shows...

GD PCM Betty boards etc. 72-74, with a lot more later on too, JGB, etc. .big ol' :)

The Stones were the soundtrack of my youth....numero uno, with most of their recorded stuff ...but I don't Fred & Barney much any more....

Jerry & JJ ....I've been in a good rut though ;)

Best live for me: Allmans Filmore East (wore a few copies out)....curtesy of the GD recording tech/setup as I recall.

Snorting your dad's ashes leads to a long life.

Sooner or later 07-09-2019 02:26 PM

Not a big fan but I saw them in 98 or 99. They were ok.

ramonesfreak 07-09-2019 02:37 PM

If your referring to JJ Cale, I hear ya. Very sorry I never saw him. Very much a favorite. The recent Jerry live box set is good. Check it to end the rut.

Going next month (26th) and looking forward to it. Been to every one of their galas that I could make it to, including their last 6 or 8 "final tours". I mean Sir Mick has a 2 year old son and needs the $'s!:)

Taking my son on August 14. Told him he needed to see: Rolling Stones, Bowie, Springsteen, and Elton John before they died. This will be 3 out of 4 for him. Bowie let us down.
