Chris Kraft was an Icon of that era. I remember him just like any of the Astronauts. For some reason I always remember him along with Jules Bergman. In my memories, I can still hear Bergman refer to Chris Kraft in Bergman's distinct voice, " . . . according to Chris Kraft at Mission Control . . .".
May he rest in peace.

RIP Chris, you are NASA. IIRC he imagined and created the global com system to stay in contact with orbiting astronauts.
