Wanna see a '19 Bullitt on the Autobahn?

According to ford, the '19 Bullitt has been electronically limited to 181 mph. The euro version has approx. 20 less horsepower than the USA version, dunno if that makes a difference or not. However, the speed shown here equals roughly 160 mph? Probably could hang with Stijn's mighty Cayman, though.

All a moot point anyway. As I've seen frequently on my I-5 runs to my favorite pool hall...your speed is limited to the speed of the fastest semi passing a slower one.

I sold my 82 Targa, delivering it to PA tomorrow.

The ease of 160mph in PASSENGER cars today (tires, road surface, suspension, etc.), with working a/c, is fun to watch.

He made it look effortless, which is it probably was.

Yep. On at Albany, off at Salem. The cue ball, state street, Salem.

Note he hit the 260 mark in 4th gear of a 6 speed. Maybe the electronic limit lower in Europe?

Impressive. And on snow tires.

Seriously, I've long noted that Ford moved hard to technology with the Boeing CEO.

Lots and lots of folks sit WAY too far away from the steering wheel. Arms straight or nearly straight, legs stretched way out unable to really control the vehicle. You also see folks sitting with the seat reclined like a lazy boy. Again, no control on the car if they really need it.

Common cars are electronically shut off at 250 km/h in Germany. There are ways to open them up but it involves extra work and higher insurance.

To clarify: BMW, Mercedes, Audi etc. only have special models with >250 km/h. I.e. AMG SLR or a modified M5. Porsche looks to have their cars all open (i.e. 293 for the 911).

If you have driven on the Autobahn, it is not very feasible to do so at over 250 km/h, so this voluntary cutoff by manufacturers has really been accepted well across the driving population.

So it's a German thing? Makes sense now. I wondered wtf when he hit 260 in 4th, then tried 5th & 6th..still 260.

Oh well...back from NOT playing pool today. Onto I-5 at Albany, only to encounter a parking lot. Must have been a crash ahead. Tiring my clutch leg out in the mile or so and 45 minutes it took to reach an exit that allowed me to
take the backroads home.

Gee, I was so looking forward to trying for the 151 mph electronic limit Ford says is in my old '09 Bullitt Mustang.

Hah! My mother lives outside of Turner. There are certainly some rural roads out there where you can haul arse.
