I just went out and emptied the balance of the can I used last night plus another partial can I had in the basement . Dead wasps on the ground and didn't see even one come out of the hive when I resprayed this morning . Looks like I can claim victory .

Was wasps, vice hornets? I'd say you were lucky based on my experience.

^^^ I believe they were wasp's but I really didn't study them ;) And as the old saying goes it's better to be lucky than good :D

RWebb 08-06-2019 11:47 AM

they are in the wasp family, Vespidae IIRC

Those are what I call a hornet's nest....canned five or so in recent years...wasp's nests....bunches of smaller ones.

I don't know why but every time I glance at this title I see "bees knees"

Hornets get no mercy around our house...little bastards
I keep honey bees: when they swarm, you want to catch them to start a new hive. They rarely make it easy but the reward is “sweet”. The last one I got was about 20 foot up a maple tree. It required some redneck engineering to get to it.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1565143541.jpg

Glad to hear you were able to resolve it without napalm. Many years ago in my blue collar days, we bought a used mobile home that we eventually found had a bee's next in the belly between the plywood floor and insulation. We used an iterative approach of my partner hacking holes in the plywood and me laying down suppressing fire with a bee and wasp killer, two fisted of course. It wasn't pretty, but no humans were harmed in the process.:)

Our daughter found a wasp nest last night in the side of the pool. Used Raid and 3 actually were able to fly out. The rest crawled/dropped out.

Just have to run a few filter/backwash cycles now! :(

That is NOT a redneck's truck btw :)

Nicely done....

I catch em before they make a nest.

Couple of these a year at the back end of the garden is all you need.

Oranje juice draws em in
they get stuck
they die
their dead body gives of feromones
draws in more of their stupid little buddies

Any nest they start, dies out because the dumbasses don't go home with food

Stick a fork in this one it is done :D Went out with shovel in hand , dislodged the nest with no issues . One wasp staggered out but he was not going to make it long . Inside of the nest was full of dead larvae/eggs that was gross looking  Gave the nest a good toss into the woods mother nature can now recycle .

uh dood, not one single pic? You do know where you're posting, correct?

That'll get you 2 punches in your man card.
