![]() $20 Tractor Supply, Home Depot, etc have similar. I didn't know how much I needed this until I bought one to melt frost in a footing.

Public service announcement. Don't kill bees, they're dying fast enough without any additional violence. Once they're gone, we're hosed.
(But that looks like a big ol' honkin' paper wasp nest. Bring out the fire. *****ing *****ers)

If they are bees, then don't kill them
If they are wasps, hornets, etc..., then go ahead, but if they are bees, you can call someone that will come move the hive for you.

Just be prepared, as any survivors will be exceedingly angry.

those are not bees
you MUST kill the Queen - all the rest are like appendages on a many headed hydra I suggest a stand-off weapon. Napalm or a flame-thrower would be best, but a shotgun blast will work. Once you destroy the nest, the Queen will die unless inside the cliff face itself. |

Gasoline or Kerosene is your best bet.
Use a 1 or 2 gal pump sprayer and hose the nest down.

Looks like a hornets nest, not honey bees. If you can, just leave it alone and they will go about their business. If you must destroy it, the wasp/hornet spray is the ticket. A 12 pk of beer, vidcam on a tripod, and getting in nice and close so you don't miss are essential.

I agree it is not a bees nest but a hornet or wasp's nest , I wouldn't kill normal bees . The suggestion of a garden sprayer with kerosene or similar is one I had not thought of . I do have diesel fuel in pour cans so could go that route . While I would love to just leave it until cooler weather the cooler weather is 4 months away and I don't want to risk injury to myself/wife/grand kids so action needs to be taken . And there will be no video ........ if I have to I'll post the results from the ER
![]() I also had not considered a shotgun blast now that would be fun ! It would be a close quarters shot would # 6 or # 7 shot be a good choice ? Two well placed shots do the trick ?

Take a hose up to the edge and turn it on real slow. The paper will absorb the water and the thing will fall off of the dirt wall. The wasps will move on.

A few summers ago I wuz lighting a charcoal grill beneath a big ol' pin oak in my parents' back yard early afternoon. Didn't know wtf came outta nowhere (above) and zapped me on the arm....he was pissed
![]() Then I got pissed....I keep a can in my F150....a few seconds "instant death" spray is all it takes....in the hole. I have notches on my can....at least 5 ![]() Bees good....hornets gets spray, yellow jackets in the ground get 4-5 oz of gasoline in a bottle stuck in their hole....fumes get the whole network. |

I’ve got the same issue - (Hornets nest in a tree off the front walkway) will carefully get after it this evening and soak with Wasp/Hornet spray.
