If I’m in the area of a nuke blast. I’d run toward it. No way would I wanna be a survivor in a waste land.

If there is a full on nuclear event, I hope the first one lands in my back yard. I don't want to be a partially burned survivor in an apocalyptic desert scrounging for food.

Or worse, being the food.

Well, Neil Young put out an album in '74 called On The Beach, so I guess the party was over and done with for decades by the time you started using that term....

(Not to brag, but my copy is vinyl, and I bought it the week it dropped...)

I live close enough to Pendelton to know if there is anything happening the surrounding area will be messy. I won't have to be scrounging for food or battling zombies, there just won't be any.

All of us have outlived the air raid siren.

I remember the small underground shelters they advertised in the '50s. I always wondered what it would smell like in there after a few days of everybody sweating and pooping in those small things. I also remember getting up early in the mornings, sitting in the front yard looking east on mornings they would have a nuckear test in Nevada. We lived south of the San Joaquin Valley in a little town. When the thing went off, there was a bright flash of light followed by a sharp, short crack like a thunderclap.

I saw the movie in the theater when it was released in 1960. That has been my reference when discussing the popularity of us bonds and usd in the post 08 world..

It is an on the beach strategy.

I got my shovel out yesterday and started digging my bunker.

sc_rufctr 08-15-2019 12:10 AM

Don't the Mormons have it in their covenant? (Not sure if that's the right word)

They must have at least 3 months worth of food in storage??? Do they have shelters as well?
