Well, I'm guessing we were all BCC'ed, and I deleted it years ago. But it basically explained that PARF was being created because some folks (I call them butt hurt snowflakes, but I digress) got offended by political discussions and we needed to separate PPOT. TBH, I am amazed I was on that list and Sammy wasn't (not criticizing Sammy here, just sayin). I think Joeaksa was on it too, but he left PPOT a while ago. I wasn't really upset or offended by it, just kind of surprised, as I know lots of folks were way more offensive than me, plenty of them banned and even plenty of those have come back under different names and not been re-banned. I did get a PM or two over the years, telling me someone had complained to them about me and they felt it was unjustified or just wrong. No matter. I have met most of the PARF regulars in person, even a few on my ignore list. And I'm not out to make new friends.

Anything posted on PARF is now hidden from online searches so it can, safely, to some degree anyway, be a freeforall, which it is. Something of a Lord of the Flies social experiment as it were. The doxing is the crazy part of it, people are pretty creepy.

OT, as a whole, is a fantastic bunch of people with a lot of interesting insights and experiences to share. It seems to be self-policing pretty well with only what I would consider minor infringements now and again. I myself have stepped over the line several times but try not to keep walking, or respond to those that do.

As I've said many times, I wish there were a one strike and you are out super-PARF where great political discourse would be cherished. But no matter how many parts I buy, that's not going to happen.

I did want to respond to any questions regarding my motive. First of all, this thread outed me as the one that got the fentynal thread shut down as well as the fact that I owned up right there in the thread the moment I sent Eric a PM.

Obviously, Eric encouraged me and what's more, he asked for volunteers to chime in and help him while he instituted the company policy. So I did. That is not being a moderator. Eric and I had that conversation and I wanted to leave things the way they were and not put my name at the bottom. Basically, I don't want the password to the admin because I don't want to think I have to open the forum and do due diligence.

So to get to your question which I made bold, that just about nails it. Just some left over loyalty to Pelican which might be misplaced. Another reason not to moderate.

I have no idea what anyone is talking about when they mention buying parts, getting money or discounts. AFIK, nothing like those factors exist and I'm not angling for any either.
