My second favorite car of all time. I own my very favorite...
If I could park a British Racing Green with buckskin leather interior series II drop head coupe next to my '72 911 some day, my life would be complete. |
I'd like a NART...

Troubles with Lucas usually started when the battery was going south. Then the poor uninformed owner would take it to Sears and install something like a DieHard that wasn't quite factory spec. The cars of the Lucas era had voltage regulators built by the neanderthals and they went nuts not being matched properly to charging rates. So you got spikes and lows and electrical problems ensued.
Nowhere will you find documented info on this so don't try and take it with a grain of salt. I took the advice of an old Brit who ran an auto electrical service in Beverly Hills 45 years ago and had trouble free British cars Lucas equipped. |
Believe it or not, I learned to drive in an E-Jag. Wonderful car.

Here's mine that I wish I wouldn't have sold a few years ago. Only so much time for so many cars. ...And space for them.

My dad had a ‘74 E-type roadster, V-12 4-speed. Last one sold in our town, supposedly. Not the most collectible one now but it was a fun beast. I took it to prom in HS. He also had a couple of ‘60s Jag sedans over the years.

Looked like yours :)! Oh yeah...they parked 'em outside....:( |
I want a beat up to put side pipes on a la McQueen's SSK. Bid on a ratty one BAT a couple weeks ago. Knew I was low, but figured I could talk my way out of it on the home front if I actually got it for that price. :)

Here is one performing the role it was meant to play:

I spent to much time working on a 12 cylinder E type in my yoot, so not really what you would call a big fan.
But I haven't been able to get the eagle speedster out of my mind. I would never spend that kind of scratch on a car, but it's one of the few cars I sincerely lust after. <iframe width="1072" height="603" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/66owXqZaexs" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="1072" height="603" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/QVdQoh0wNXc" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> |

My father had a 70 E type conv. in red that he picked up in 75' with only 13k miles on it, paid $3300. I sold it for him about 15 years ago for $55k with 28k on it. Wonder what its worth now? I had a 65 RHD coupe for a while, sold it to buy something else. Was up cleaning out the barn and forgot I had this fender. Anyone need one?
