Does Invisalign work?
My bottom teeth are a fair way from well aligned. Anyone here have experience with this product?

I will ask my dentist what he gave me last week. If it's not invisiline, it's similar. My teeth move around a lot and one front one got pushed out a little, this is after 16 crowns and 16 veneers that were perfect. He used a diamond strip to create a little room between teeth, took a mold, sent it to a lab and I got it last Thursday. Can feel the pressure on my teeth. Losing weight from not wanting to take it out to eat.

Yes, it works. I haven't had it, but a couple of family members have.

Invisalign can work, in certain instances. There are limitations to what it can do. It is not a cure-all, but depending on where you are starting from, it can really make a difference. Have someone locally take a look.
Edit- Shaun might be using clear-correct. Same concept. Last edited by LEAKYSEALS951; 09-07-2019 at 02:34 PM.. |

It worked for me but my teeth weren’t too bad. There’s a previous thread on it.

I've been watching a free month of Hulu for the past couple of weeks. They have ads for "SmileDirectClub" or something like that. It's another copy.

Your PPOT periodontist here...I don't do Invisalign but I refer to my orthodontists for it all the time. Clear Correct is another name for the same thing. The catch-all term for these systems is "clear aligners" I would not recommend Smile Direct Club. They are in hot water with the ADA, most state dental boards, and a lot of patient lawsuits currently, may not be around much longer.

Check out the reviews on-line...lots of dissatisfied customers with that product. Seems like their biggest advantage is the cost, which is significantly less than Invisalign.
As I understand it, after the initial office visit, Smiledirectclub sends you all the aligners at once and it's up to you to change them out when required. There are no additional office visits to check up on your progress, or to tweak the aligners. With Invisalign, you still have to change the aligners on schedule, but you visit the orthodontist about every 6 weeks to see how things are coming along and if there are any adjustments needed to your program. This is what probably accounts for the additional cost. I'm starting the Invisalign program later this month and will report back. I have lower crowding that will be corrected and the orthodontist claims that treatment will take 6 months...providing I wear the aligners at least 21 hours a day. After that, I'll need to wear a retainer (similar to the aligners) full time for another 6 months, then only at night from then on.

I’m not looking into it. I’ve just seen the commercials. Family that had it done used invisalign.

Got my first set of Invisalign trays put on yesterday. I have 18 more and 189 days left to go. Gonna be the best and most expensive weight loss program I can imagine.

"When is a diet worth as much as a first generation miata?" Why is this a weight loss program? Because you can't eat with the trays in so you don't snack all day?

Eating is a chore. They didn't give me a tray removal tool, so I'm using my fingernails until the tool I ordered on Amazon arrives. Worst part is the buttons they cemented to my teeth to hold the trays on. The buttons are very abrasive when the trays are out, so they catch a lot of food. I am just about done my morning coffee, will go brush my teeth, put the trays back in and then that's it until lunch. I have a gig tonight and don't want to bring a toothbrush with me for after I grab a quick meal before our set.

I am so nauseous today, I may not have to worry about eating for a while.

I was also told that the aligners needed to be removed before consuming anything but plain water. I found that I could drink coffee, juice and even mixed drinks without removing them...no harm done. I always removed them to eat anything that required chewing though.

I think it my be a matter of your age. My wife used them with poor results. Some of her teeth are still loose after a few years

Cool! Orthodontics is the best value in dentistry.

My family's experience is, yes, they do work, but you should be aware of the need to wear a retainer at night after the treatment is done. in adults the jaw structure is pretty well set and the teeth will seek to return to their original position if you don't wear the retainer. YMMV.

Isn’t that a kind of ladies underware, no visible panty lines, etc? Not understanding your application exactly. They don’t belong in your mouth. Ever.
