Steam cleaner?

Hello,
I am looking for a steam cleaner, with which I can clean my carpet, tiles, etc.
Who has experience with such a device or could recommend me a good one, the market is very wide...The price plays a minor role, thought spending around 150$ for it.

Phil, ignore the poor welcome.

The absolute best steam cleaner is made by Motor Meister, called the "Steam Meister".

Can't find the link, but try this: https://www.pca.org/tech/motor-meister-rebuilds

Good luck!

I've often wondered what that stood for, lots of opinionated polishers (!) on that forum.

OK, I'll bite but I bet you will not respond to any of these posts.

A steam cleaner boils water and sends steam through a hose/tool onto the surface you wish to clean. You hand wipe with a rag the hot water and dirt off the surface you just sprayed with steam.

A very cheap one is $100 and a well made professional one is thousands of dollars.

A carpet cleaner is not a steam cleaner. It sends very hot water and (optional) detergent onto the surface, agitates, and then sucks the cleaning solution and dirt back into a reservoir.

$150 is a standard price for the common man for food/pet stain removal.

(I'll bet I wish for those five minutes back)

Old thread, but a topic of interest for me. Should I just periodically have someone come out a and clean my rugs? I should I buy a steam cleaner and do it myself? There are no carpets in my home, only rugs. This is not my first post on Pelican.

Denis, is a funny guy & a real person. Some of his posts are like things that pop out of kids' mouths. Things others are thinking but don't comment about.

Nah, just take them outside and beat them.

I've tried that with my smaller area rugs, it's hard work and rather ineffective.
