b17 crashed

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/10/02/us/b17-crash-bradley-collings-foundation-trnd/index.html

what a loss, terrible for the people on board, but also the heritage , the plane is not replaceable

there are only 39 , maybe now 38 airworthy:

I'm an hour away from Paul Allen's collection of vintage wings and tanks.

I was soooooo tempted.

I think it was $3500-$4500 for an hour of you piloting a P-51 mustang D class in a two seater.

when the hell are you ever going to get that chance. blow the wad it's only money.

oops my bad....."yes dear, I understand dear, you're right dear".

Actually....There are (at present, after the loss of this one) only 9 that are airworthy.

There are another 6-7 being restored to that status.

The rest of the 38 are either display only aircraft, being restored for display, or are in storage.
