2nd Generation Miata Muffler

Anyone recommend a louder than stock but not crazy loud Muffler for a 2001 Miata in the $200 range? The muffler is old and time to replace. Might as well give it a little more noise. Son's car, figure good project to do together.

I could go to the Miata board but you guys seem to know everything.

Thanks,
David

Borla would do it for a cat back, if you want loud. No name on ebay is the cheap option.

I suspect Flyin Miata probably also makes a good option.

Garage
They make a CARB legal high flow cat for my car. One is sitting in my garage right now, waiting for a day where I would rather be under it than in it. Been pretty nice lately.

You could probably find recordings of different exhausts on youtube, pick one that sounds promising.

I don't think you are going to make much difference one way or the other on a Miata, power wise. Maybe make it a little lighter, and shinier.

Don't bother with Flyin miata if your budget is $200, their muffler is $459.
