Impressive - Hellcat from Ashes to Done

Please look at this - I think everyone here would appreciate mostly the kids guts and drive, then his talent with very little tools.

Also, I dig his wife helping him that they work together.

He has done a few other high-end cars / SUV that would otherwise be toast.

embedded for easier watching.

There's the first 10 episodes to get you started. Looks like he's at least up to episode 18.

It never ceases to amaze me what some people are willing to put their time and effort into.

He should put all of that talent and hard work+time into something worthwhile. He'd be able to buy all of the Dodges he wants and not even incinerated.

Well - I thought the same. Apparently his original main goal was to buy, fix, sell at a profit (dollars only) and then lather rinse repeat. But as things often happen in the world of youtube, his videos may be the actual money maker.

I like the fact he tallies up the dollar investment at the end.

Possibly his end goal to open a shop, fund it with Utube advertising $$

I certainly thought "that's an insane project, why would you even bother"

But then I thought ^this^. If it was just a regular old restoration, no one would care, but an insane restoration of an insane vehicle should/may get a crazy number of hits which is where he'll make his money.

When I was a teenager - I remember a older guy who was in the body / paint side of the business ( and very skilled BTW) said to me what ever you do NOT ever buy a vehicle that's been consumed by fire. One thing if the fire was inside or the engine compartment, a whole 'nother when the whole thing is burnt to a crisp.

If you want to restore something, that's the last place to start

He referenced something about the sheet metal being 'ruined' by the heat where the temper would take any strength out of it and something like the roof skin be almost impossible to get right.

Right. He could have been like the other 90% of kids out there and gone to the bank of daddy and bought one off the shelf. Cost and time effective? Probably not. Inspiring? Yes.

I thought a burnt out shell wasn't rebuildable because the steel is weakened by the heat.
Maybe I'm wrong...

It just seems prudent to start with a shell that hasn't been in a fire.
