We have twins.... kind of... Picked up 2nd Cayenne
We took the day off and drove up to Michigan to pick up my wife's "new" used 2013 Cayenne anniversary present.... Don't like the wheels or the silver exterior trim, but it was a one owner with about 60k miles at a great price. This will be her daily and I am thinking of getting rid of my 2003 330i high mileage driver and keep the '08 high mileage Cayenne for myself to drive to work in. Kind of wierd owning two of the same cars, but I really like these Cayennes as drivers. Both are due for a good detailing session (especially the old one)

Nice! I had a little garage time with my 958 today, cleaning out sunroof drains. I’ve got 90k miles and hope to make it to at least 130k before a change.

We're wanting a Cayenne or Macan. I think the Macan would be a better buy since it's a bit smaller and a smaller vehicle is a bit easier in parking garages and lots and narrow streets.

Yep..... 3.6 direct injection. The older one I think was rated at maybe 290hp and the newer one I believe is listed as 300hp. Both are plenty quick enough for daily driving and they are nice on road trips too.

I think Tim would agree with me on this but we'll see. Mine has been great and is approaching 200k miles as well. That being said there are occasion minor things that I always fix myself. If I were the type to 'take it in" (even to a private shop) I'm sure the cost would have prompted me to sell but that's only because everyone gets raped for simple work on these things.
So, if you're not willing to diagnose and repair minor annoyances yourself your opinion would likely differ significantly from mine. For me it's been one of the most solid and reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Took this very dirty pic the other day but upload didn't work. ![]()

I have toyed with the idea of adding a pepper wagon to the stable and have done a fair amount of internet research . While the V8 in the S or GTS models has more power the VR6 derived Porsche engine appears to be much more reliable . In the past I was hesitant to consider the V6 thinking it would be a dog . Last year I picked up a very clean 2010 Volvo XC90 for my wife , it has a 3.2 straight six in it and weighs 4750 lbs. which is basically the same as a Cayenne . The Volvo has plenty of get up and go for what we use it for .
Right now I am not in the market but in the future I can see a 2008 - 2010 V6 Cayenne sitting next to my Boxster as a garage companion . Being near Atlanta there is a large market of used vehicles available so I will make a deal when the right one comes along .

Full disclosure..... we bought our '08 with somewhere around 130k with no previous service records from a used car lot. I knew when I test drove it that it shifted a little weird sometimes.
I ended up deciding to remove the transmission valve chest and sent it to a shop in Carolina for rebuild. IIRC they charged around $600-700. I re-installed it and has worked perfect since. I have had to fiddle with one of the HVAC mixing servos (works great now). I just recently replaced the high pressure engine mounted fuel pump (under $200 for the part). I have replaced tires once, brake pads once and of course multiple engine oil changes. No other issues now at 206k. So other than the maintenance/ normal wear stuff, I have spent about $1000 on DIY repairs. It is pretty well built and even though we drive it in salt in the winter, the undercarriage still looks great. PS.... Lendaddy I like your wheels! Both of mine could use better looking 19 or 20's Vs the 18" stock wheels they presently have.

I got a 2011 around 2017, pretty good so far as a daily driver with just regular maintenance, and then that known issue of A/C drain getting clogged, and then that recall on the camshaft controller which was fixed at the dealer.

Cleaned up pretty good.... My wife does not care, but these wheels just suck IMO.

Weren't coolant pipes a V8 problem? I recall stretched timing chains were a not uncommon problem on the 6 cylinders but that could be ancient history.
