My favorite thing about salvage yards ..

Yard trucks ! I have seen some creative ones over the years . This is one of my favorites . Generator mounted in the passenger seat !

Garage
The yard I used to frequent had 3 or 4 that looked like that and worse. They ran as bad as they looked, and they all had “dummy pipes” like that one. They called the dummy pipes because dumb people would grab ahold of the vertical exhaust pipe to pull themselves into the passenger seat and burn their hand.

This is my favorite. No, not the Ford pickup, the truck behind it.
Guy drove out on to the lake way to late in the year, and predictably fell through.
The ice was only about 2 inches thick. The truck was about a mile from shore.
The tow truck guy took a rusted out Jeep Cherokee and cut everything off he figured he didn't need, made a boom and used a 10,000lb winch. They ended up hooking up to the submerged truck, then dragged the truck along the bottom while cutting a path in the ice until they got to an area where the ice was thick enough to attempt to lift the truck. One of the guys I work with is on the county dive team, and he attached the cable to the back of the truck. Said the guy who owned the truck wanted to know where his ball mount went. He told him it was right out there where he left his truck.
