I looked at what them guys went through when I emigrated here from England .

Law at the time was :
If your car is on the list of cars previously imported , you can import it . (Not easily , but one box ticked)
If it isn’t you have more hoops to jump through ...
My car wasn’t on the list .
A left hand drive version had previously been imported iirc , but mine was rhd

This meant shipping by a government approved agent .
Only 2 on west coast , so they could charge whatever they wanted .
About double the norm iirc .
It then had to go into their bonded warehouse and you paid rent .
They then inspected it and did the work needed to bring it to USA spec .
Then came the government inspection , and if they said no , you paid the government shipping agent to ship it back to England .

I looked at what happened to bill with his millions ..
I had the choice of importing , paying for maintained storage for about 7 years and bring it in using 25 year rule , or sell .
I decided to leave my car with ninemeister to put back to stock-is and sell and I shipped all the good bits over here and bought an American version of the same car I had back home .

Should be finished and back on the road as a Usa lhd version of the car I planned on keeping til The day I die early next year ....

It’s Over 25 years old now

Jesus man, why even go through it if you plan on being dead next year? You're the second person this week on pelican to announce they plan on being gone within a year. WTF?

I don’t think that’s what he meant, but it’s hard to say because his grammar sucks so bad.

It should be finished early next year. He plans on keeping it until he dies. Something like that.
