Since when is HISTORY now banished to PARF?

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/off-topic-politics-religion/1044739-night-broken-glass.html#post10652053

I'm crying FOUL!

There was one or two comments that had a tinge in them but I've seen far worse comments in a non PARF thread and it wasn't banished. Did someones feeling get hurt because I pointed to Nazi attrocities? If so we need to put the thread on Jojo Rabbit in PARF as well.

Tobra 11-09-2019 07:09 PM

Did you inadvertently start in in PARF?

Honestly I don't know, and I was the first one to respond.

Por_sha911 11-09-2019 07:29 PM

Well if I did then I called a foul on myself.

It was initially here.

We have a new moderator. I've seen him do this a couple of times now, with absolutely innocuous threads.

I have been here since 2004, with over 16,000 posts. I have never even been contacted by a moderator, I have never had a post "moderated" in any way, in short - I have never had a problem.

That has all changed. Today, I have had a post heavily edited, completely changing the meaning and context of that post. Another forum member's posts in that same thread were deleted, further leaving my post "hanging out to dry", completely out of context. Really made me look like an ass hole, so I wound up deleting my post so that its altered meaning would not be taken out of context.

If the goal posts have been moved, we all need to know. If we are now all subject to the subjective whims of a new moderator, we all need to know. As far as I can see, none of this forum's rules were violated by either your thread or my exchange with that other member. I see nothing in either case that has not been posted here time and time again, for as long as this forum has existed. Yet the man behind the curtain is pulling harder on the levers than I have ever seen in my 15+ years on this forum. I feel we are owed an explanation.

JackDidley 11-09-2019 08:05 PM

I absolutely hate when guys post PARF in OT but I really see no reason for that to be moved. Seems to be a reminder of history.

The post appears to be about politics and religion. The moderator moved it. Cope.

I felt the same way about a thread I started a few weeks ago that was nothing but a tribute to our wounded soldiers by a former pres.. It just totally caught me by surprise when it was moved to PARF within a few minutes...then of course it degraded to dipsodom. I was told I should have known better by a long standing member here ;).....but I still don't have a clue. In my case, it wasn't Zeke. The forum has changed...most of us don't care for the nasty side of PARF that spills over here....and the pendulum has swung too far with "a silent hand" and no real explanation imo. I've been told I should leave PPOT too for pointing it out :(.

So get in line Joe and Jeff.. the exit is stage left.

It's was helluva good run though ;)

One of the things that cracks me up the most about here and PARF is the fairly large number of Puritan forum nannies that think they know what's best for everyone else who posts (not talking about the moderators). Often those same peeps crow long and loud about their ignore lists, too. :)

Thems Ruskies killed more, a lot more.

It's really simple. I never post anything here I wouldn't say to that persons face.

I told this story before. Way back in the day I went to a Showcase mfg on Los Angeles st in LA to get a case to display certain items. The little old Jewish guy there started talking to me about machine guns that he owned, and that he had bought them in NV. Knowing the stiff penalties for owning a MG in CA I started to think why is this guy telling me all of this? then I saw the tattoo on his arm..he had been in a German Concentration camp during the war. Simply he didn't forget and was not going to go quietly if that sort of thing should ever start to happen to him again...there is a reason why the Israelis say "NEVER AGAIN."

The best deterrent is that the utter horror of what the Germans/ NAZI's did never be forgotten. The most civilized Germans, the land of Beethoven, Goeth, Nizeshce, and Bach descended into the abyss and committed the abomination of murder on an industrialized scale. The Germans still live in shame over it, for their armed forces have not deployed outside of German territory since, except for a force to Afghanistan in a NON combat role.

It is an affront to the Jewish peoples the world over, let alone the rest of humanity that the memory of those years be either denied or put aside as mere political or religious ranting. If you can forget about it as being unimportant, then it can and will happen again.

I am sorry but humanity demands that I take an ethical and moral stance on this issue.

And the Japanese killed a lot of Chinese, and did barbaric things and their record in WW2 of POW treatment often given a pass somehow.

And snowflakes, using FREE internet and social forums, believe they have been horribly wronged.

Well guys, I'm here to tell you - I, for one, am willing to cut our new moderator some slack. It's a tough job, with long hours, and very little pay... ;)

I, for one, am glad to see Zeke step up. Most of the rest of us never would. I think we would all agree that he is one of the more level-headed inmates in our little asylum. I think he will do a fine job. Just be patient for awhile - I'm sure there wasn't any training, there is no instruction manual - none of that. He's kind of hanging out to dry, flying by the seat of his pants. He'll get it. Let's try not to be too hard on him while he's settling in.

ossiblue 11-10-2019 07:55 AM

Just for the record, I saw the thread posted in OT, not PARF. I know because I no longer visit PARF and haven't done so in months.

If Zeke is the new guy, I am delighted, which probably means he is the wrong guy:D

Enjoy this place, I do. For every ill, there is a positive...and for the PARF complainers, I get it: PARF bad, you good. EVERYBODY gets it.

Now, move the f on. Please.

Thanks, Zeke.

I agree with Tabs 100%! Back in the day, General Eisenhower insisted that the photographers take lots of pictures because he knew that there would come a day when the whole Jewish genocide during WWII would be denied. When I was a young teenager, I met a woman and her husband that had both been in concentration camps. They both had the tattoos on their arms but would not talk about their experience too much. Can't blame them for that! When an ambulance would go up a nearby street to the local hospital, the siren sound was much like that used by the Nazis. They would both turn pale and get nervous! And, this was 20 years after the war was over! Never again!
